The Amazing Aurora app is designed to assist those who want to witness the beauty of the aurora borealis or, the northern lights. The app includes solar wind data, cloud forecasts, and sun/moon data to aid in recommending times to best see the aurora. Additionally, this app takes the experience one step further and allows users to actively engage in the chase by reporting whether or not they are witnessing aurora activity. Amazing Aurora attempts to take all of the scientific data and put it in a form that is easy to understand and help its users determine when the best time is, within an hour, to try seeing Lady Aurora in all of her beauty!

Edit: Amazing Aurora 👏 You Rock! Thanks for fixing the problem! Original post... I used to really like this app. Now it has quit sending me notifications regarding the kp and it is also not sending me notifications regarding what other people are reporting. Not sure whether it is a subscription thing or not, but I have checked and re-checked all of my settings and everything is the same as it was before when I was receiving notifications. Summer silence is set to off.

Original: I found the issue with Android devices. The keys to my push notification service were reset somehow. They have been corrected, and I have confirmed with my Android test user that notifications are once again being received. Sorry for the problem, I do not know how those got reset.

Hit or miss, perhaps slightly less than most aurora apps but i would recommend several others over this one. While this one offers plenty useful information it needs some actual, functional notification adjustments: only update during certain hours or cloud cover % are offered in several free apps. Also quite annoying it often resets notification - within 2 minutes of delete phone is ringing and flashing again. Torn between uninstall or just full mute/ disable app when not actually in use.

Notifications were fixed to only alert starting during twilight and ending at sunrise. There were some errors fixed. The only alert that should be more than once per hour is Kp since it can change often. Appreciate the feedback!

The Best app for Aurora data I have used. The data is color coded to make it easier for beginners yet so much information that it really is a useful tool for more experienced Aurora hunters. Push Notifications are useful and it even has a user input section for people in the area to report if they see something. Even better no enjoying ads... the ads are displayed at the bottom and do not get in the way.
