The reader works great and comic panels have a nice feature for readability but the store works against you. Digital orders can't be refunded and coincidentally One-Click ordering for digital items can't be turned off. I now have to call customer service in the morning just to try and get a refund for a 15 dollar book I never wanted.
USELESS IF OFFLINE. books disappear from your purchases, books disappear from offline saves FREQUENTLY, including AUDIO add-ons you've purchased from Kindle - they then try and sell you the same audible narration AGAIN; helpline is hopeless. Very fiddly for mobile use. But it's Amazon so what do you expect. Better than audible. Word runner is ok. Kindle Store is PATHETIC. Having no SD card option is ridiculous (and the Q and A on the matter is misleading to put it mildly).
Original app automatically uninstalled so i loaded this version. It doesn't work on lit kat 4.4. The menu action bar does not work. Now I'm stuck with white screen black letters and no adjustments. Seriously bad QA and s/w development team. Just had to screw with it. Arrgh!
I loved my kindle, I have over 150 books on there and one day it just stopped working, no matter what I do. It says that the book is invalid and I need to remove and re-download. That doesnt work. I can't get into any of my previously purchased books either. I very disappointed. I hope at some point in the near future they will fix this problem. I have wasted money buying books on this app.
Great when it works. Not sure if it is a compatibility issue with my phone, but more often than not I can't access the kindle store to purchase or borrow new books. I receive an error stating the webpage cannot be accessed at this time but if I restart my phone, 9 times out of 10 I can then access the store. Very frustrating.
Updating review to 5 stars with no complaints. It's the only reading application that delivers a consistent experience every time I use it. Other reading apps usually have something about them that becomes annoying over time such as no offline reading or "last page read" is not actually the last place read. Nothing to complain about here though.
You can now read using left-aligned (ragged right) text instead of justified (aligned on both left and right margin). This new alignment option can be selected from the Display Settings (Aa) menu within Kindle books that support Enhanced Typesetting. On the Kindle eBook Store page, look for "Enhanced Typesetting: Enabled" in the features list.
