Great audiobook player, though a bit dated now Since I wrote my original review of this app years ago the landscape of player features has changed. There are some features that I would like to see added to Ambling. The top one is the ability to vary the playback speed. This is found in a number of other players, but noticeably missing in Ambling. As a result I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to 4. Once the features are brought up to par with other players I will be happy to change my rating back to 5 stars.
Create new bookshelf graphics for 5* Easy to use. Needs narrator speed adjusting capabilities. Also, an inbuilt volume booster for books with quiter recordings. Some recordings are rendered useless when on noisier public transport, even with the phone headset volume at 'max'. Smooth & reliable performance. Using SG3
A new experience. I have never used an audio book app before! This is a pleasant new experience. I bought the personal app because my cellphone has only got a built in 1gb sd card and there is no way to tell the app to download to my 16gb external sd. The personal app means that I can download on my pc, transfer to my external sd card and then use read from sd card option to access the audio book. Apart from that minor hassle it's great to relax and have book read to me. The free audio books seem good so far.
Good App Works pretty good. A little awkward adding files, but I like fact that I can listen, stop, go listen to something else, and come back to file and it Saved my place on each one.
Excellent Audiobook Player When I switched from iOS to android the most disappointing thing about it was the lack of audiobook support. This app fixed that void and then some. I have been using it for years now and have enjoyed it greatly.
Great for listening to your own collection. Overall I am pleased with this application for AudioBooks. The only thing it is missing is the ability to adjust the narration speed like with the Audible app. Hopefully that feature will be added soon, as I have seen it requested by other reviewers as well.
Fixed a problem where the BlueTooth media buttons could revert back to the default music player after another application temporarily took the audio focus.
When deleting audio files the .nomedia and image files are now removed, and the directory is deleted if it is empty.
An issue where starting the player sometimes went to the library screen instead of the play controls for the current book was fixed.
