• Eligibility: The app is for personal American Express Cards, American Express Business Cards, and Corporate Cards issued by American Express Europe S.A. (Germany branch).

• Availability: The app is only usable with cards issued in Germany.

Ratings and reviews

Every time I open or switch to the app it asks me to do a 2-factor authentication using SMS or email. This makes the app incredibly annoying if I quickly want to look something up or see what offers are currently available. So far the hotline has not been able to help me. I'm running Android 14 on a Google Pixel 8 and will happily provide debug logs. EDIT: In the most recent version there's a bug preventing me from entering the 2nd factor in the first place. I can no longer use the app. Great.

Perfect app for a quick check of the monthly turnover. Unfortunately, this app mostly does not respond and requires a complete new start several times before being usable. Further it would be helpful If the app provides information about the cumulated annual turnover as well as the Credit Card limit. A download of the monthly statement would be helpful, too.

The app is okay for basic things like checking your balance, activating offers, and some basic account settings. Many settings are just inside a wrapper. One would think that a premium company like American Express would have a premium website and a great app with a great UI/UX. Sadly, is not the case. Also being an international company in 2023 is disappointing that the app does not allow you to change the language to English. Even Deutsche Bank has the option to switch to English.
