Aside from normalizing tracking, the biggest downside to this app is its over-sensitivity to braking at low speeds, since braking distances grow/shrink exponentially with speed. The app seems to be written in defiance of the laws of physics. While it's something I'm sure drivers could be better at, it feels dangerous to encourage streaks of "brake-free" driving rather than just doing an overall count. I don't want that on my mind if a pedestrian darts out when I'm almost at 25 or 50 trips
Thank you, Mike. We appreciate your feedback and are exploring updates that focus more on overall safe driving. Your 91-day score is not heavily impacted by occasional braking events and reflects many trips over time. If you'd like to share feedback or receive best practices, please email streetsmartsupport@amica.com.

The app will teach you to run red light or not slow down or break for school buses and emergency vehicles. Getting warning and points taken off for slowing down gradually over 14 seconds period is ridiculous. When you have the app on, when you see yellow light, pedal to the metal or you'll have the points taken off if you slow down safely (not always, but often). responding to the comment: it's not heavily impacted, but it'll prevent you from achieving 100 score to receive 30% discount.
Hi Jake. Safety should always come first, and we understand that sometimes braking quickly is the safest choice. Your Two-Week app score may fluctuate after a braking event, but your 91-day score, which determines discounts, is not heavily impacted by occasional events. Please email streetsmartsupport@amica.com with any questions.

I didn't like it at all. It's not accurate. It records every hard break as a bad thing and has no discretion, even if a hard break just saved your life. I don't do a lot of my own driving, so every time I'm a passenger even if it's public transportation I have to go into the app and change it to passenger. Even when my phone is in the trunk secured in a unmovable position, I still get dinged for phone distractions like tapping it. And bottom line, I don't like being tracked.
