Review from John Magnusson
WiFi= OK; 4G = Error; 1/31/13 Works Great Now For that past several weeks, the app works fine using a Wi-Fi connection. Using Verizon's 4G network gives an error message [An error occurred trying to look up your train status, please try again later] when attempting to get train status or purchase a ticket. UPDATE Jan 31: App works great on Wi-Fi AND Verizon 4G. Thanks for the 4G network fix!
Needs an overhaul. This app only benefits those who buy tickets at the last minute. You cannot book tickets with a AAA discount whether or not AAA is attached to your profile. If you buy tickets online or over the phone, they won't show up in the app. By now, so long as you attach your purchase to your account, you should be able to see your tickets. Fortunately you can go through a somewhat lengthy process to view your trip through the app, but at that point, it's just easier to get a printed ticket or flash the email to the conductor.
This is really only good for looking up available trains. Though the app says you can book a trip via the app, I have never gotten that to work in 6 months of use. If it did everything it said it could, it would be a 4 or 5 star app.
Only useful for people who know the routes and schedules. Doesn't offer alternate routes if you want to go from one place to another that isn't available. Does not show train routes. Again, useless to novice train goers.
Garbage app. I have two upcoming trips . Shows me only one. I am able to see both on my PC though
Very basic. Somewhat hard to book trips. Could not find route from my local Amtrak station. Have to book seperatly which is then pointless to use app.
All I am looking for is to confirm a time of arrival and it just says no trains, then it doesn't assist with a phone number to call under the contact us heading is nothing
