Best Replacement Launcher Ever! Apex Launcher was created for me! It feels that way at least. Tried all of them for at least a week, but in the end I made the uber rare purchase of this app. Friendly UI. Practically limitless customization. Not very power hungry. Very stable. Tons of additional content in themes, icons, etc. If your all about making your phone yours, with no head scratching, convoluted, technical routines, then you'll probably be better off here, with Apex.
It may not feature some fancy features hosted by other launchers, but it is still a very effective and powerful launcher in its own right. It minimizes the animation and speeds up the system like no other. Battery consumption is optimal in all senses. I hope that the devs update it to comply with the newest version of Android.
Lost gesture functionality in GS6. These phones are big. One of the best features apex has had was the swipe down feature, which I could assign to bringing down the notification shade. Worked wonderfully on my older One M7, but the shade just will not come down on the Galaxy S6. This is a pretty big deal for me. I need to be able to use my phone one-handed, without having to shimmy and shuffle my hand up the phone while holding onto it. This is a big step in the wrong direction.
Best launcher Tried a few others including next and go. They have nothing on this. The user has full control over the custom settings. Awesome settings, cool effects, and doesn't lag the system like the others do. One complaint: sometimes, when I open an icon folder, all the icons will be missing so I close it and reopen and they return. Might want to check into that. ( full version user here ) DEFINITELY worth buying. So I did... 😀
Incredibly Powerful but Getting Worse This app gets the job done and does an amazing job of customizing my phone. I absolutely love it. My one feature request would be to add the Lollipop overscroll effect for the home screen. App has barely been updated in the past year. No Marshmallow update or bug fixes (folders appear completely blank on Power Saving mode).
I am digging APEX (on Galaxy S4) After years of ADW Ex, I just recently decided to change to a modern launcher that stays updated and has many cool options! Two of my favs are the ability to import from other launchers and the endles amount of themes. Two things that are missing in my opinion; 1. The ability to lock apps with a pin code (to keep pics, videos, and other sensitve files safe), 2. More app drawer options, like Verticle 4D. But this is the one! 5 stars if I ever see "pin #" implemented!
