Did love, now... This was my go to app to finding out what's going on in the world of tech, but with the new way Ads are displayed are way to intrusive, every 2-3 articles they will appear disguised as an article. I understand you need Ads to support your business but there must be a better way, less intrusive ads, more sponsored reviews/articles, through your shop or so on. Please approve, this app was the best
Speed... Speed is good, but I often used the mobile app to escape the deluge of ads in the desktop version. Now that advantage is gone and I have 21 ads on the home page. Do you guys consider that your ads are now using our mobile data? I'm considering just abandoning Android Central and going elsewhere.
Ads OK.... Push Notifications.. Not OK I can handle the ads. They have to make money to be able to deliver us the content we enjoy.... but the turning on of the push notifications without permission is not. This issue may just be a mistake that the developers will rectify. I have reported the issue to the developers.
Ads are killing the app Android Central used to be my go to site but sadly I'll now have to explore other sites because of too many intrusive ads. The website is no longer usable because of the overbearing ads so the app was my way to connect with the Mobile Nations family. Now the app is turning to crap too because of ads. How about a paid ad free version? We all know the ads are so you guys can generate revenue so how about letting us pay you some revenue to get rid of them?
Great app! Find myself going to this app more and more all the time. The new ads don't really bother me. I know everyone would prefer a "free and ad free" experience for everything, but the bad reviews are ridiculous claiming they're every third article. They're actually every sixth, and really not all that abtrusive, for crying out loud they have a sponsored symbol next to them, if ya don't like em, don't click on em! ;-)
Adds? So I haven't experienced the adds that others have been complaining about here. Because I haven't updated the app. And don't plan to for a little while at least. Look, I hate adds like many do. But I would be totally willing to pay a fee to have ad-free access to AC. This is probably not going to happen, and it's a tougher business model to transition to, but it would make me happy. How about offer it linked with the Mobile Nations passport system? You could include an optional subscription. Thoughts?
This release is all about performance! We are taking every part of the app, from loading speeds to scrolling smoothness, and given it a nice boost … more to come in next releases.
We've also introduced ads. We know ads aren't sexy, so we're working on integrating them as unobtrusively as possible. Let us know what you think!
