Unlike other apps that return incorrect information or no information at all, Gluten Free will scan a barcode and tell you the name of the product and whether it's gluten free or not, or if it just doesn't know.
Gluten Free won't make you hold the phone sideways and/or show the image backwards so you test your skills at moving something in reverse. Gluten Free has an easy to use camera view, with a message below of the last product you scanned and whether or not it's gluten free or if it wasn't found.
Gluten Free also keeps track of your history while the app is open, so if you've scanned a dozen things in the store and want to remember what was gluten free or not, pull up your history and see the results before closing the app.

I need to find a better data provider in Canada before I'm comfortable selling there. I apologize but it'll make the app better when I'm done
- View everything you've scanned, in the app or a website.
- Update the product if it's not sure if it's gluten free, so the next person scanning will know (completely optional)
- Updates on previously scanned items to tell you if it's gluten free (if push notification setting is enabled)
- Search for products by name instead of barcode
- "Scan" a recipe and determine if it's gluten free or how it can be. If the recipe contains bread, for example, the app will let you know you need to use gluten free bread. From a webpage with ingredients on it, you'll be able to "share with" the app, which will look at the web page and look at all of the ingredients.
-- Generate grocery list from previously scanned items.
-- Get suggestions for similar gluten free products after finding out scanned product has gluten.

A gluten-free diet is the only medically accepted treatment for celiac disease. Being gluten intolerant can often mean a person may also be wheat intolerant as well as suffer from the related inflammatory skin condition dermatitis herpetiformis, There are a smaller minority of people who suffer from wheat intolerance alone and are tolerant to gluten.
