New app has potential but falls sorry in a number of ways. First if my device is not plugged in there is a big banner on the bottom that blocks, I can't see all the directions!!!!! Second selecting how well done something is, is now another step away and hard to find. Now with that said, the favorite list is great but I would like it to also save how well done I like it along with the favorite. PS all that needs to get fixed. A like I would love to see, adding my on food, that works be great.
When I opened the app a month ago, everything was intuitive. Timer, recipes, start button. Then the UI changed for no apparent reason, hiding the recipe button with a search button that looks more like a title text. The blue gradient on the new splash screen looks like a 90s PowerPoint slide or something I made in Flash 3 decades ago. Your logo design is great, you don't need a gradient to look smart, and if you're doing gradients make it more subtle, not blue to full white. The settings now show an Anova cooker with no indicative text input, unlike the old one which was simple and straightforward. The app was essentially changed for no apparent reason and went straight to geocities.
There's absolutely no reason to force a login page to access this. Enough money was paid for the water heater and you can mine all the metrics you need without needing more personal information. I just wanted to see what temp to cook steak for medium rare; Google will easily replace this app and they already have all my information for mining purposes.
The app used to be awesome. I really enjoy cooking with my Anova immersion circulator. However I went to use the app today and after the latest update and I am now being forced to sign in with either Facebook or an email address. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I GIVE YOU ACCESS TO FACEBOOK OR EMAIL JUST TO USE THE WIFI FEATURE. I do not recommend this app. If the sign in requirements are removed I will reinstall this app.
I just want to cook and be able to control and supervise the temperature on my phone. I used to be able to so. In it's latest version this app requires that I sign up to use it. Now it's stuck for the past 30minutes on the 'this shouldn't take long' screen and prevents me from cooking. Looking forward to your next great improvement, when I'm only going to be able to cook if I tweet which meat i'm cooking first. Thanks Electrolux.
My Anova cooker is great. We love it. The newest version of the app is a different story. Since the update, my cooker won't connect over Wi-Fi, never had an issue before the update. I also believe the old version was more user friendly. I put in a message with customer support a week ago, haven't heard back. Once the app issue is resolved, my rating will be 5 stars.
Thanks to everyone who's given their input and tested this release. Please keep your feedback coming firstname.lastname@example.org
