About this app

Whatifi is an interactive movie app where YOU decide where the story goes.

With Whatifi, you get to control the characters' fate — make choices alone or go multiplayer and invite your friends to join the game. Be ready to go down all kinds of crazy, strange, scary, and exciting paths!

Here’s how it works:

1. Select a movie and hit play
2. Go it alone or play with friends in multiplayer mode
3. Every now and then, you’ll have to make a choice or vote on it with your friends
4. Your decisions determine where the story goes
5. Once you get to the end, watch again to make different choices and explore new storylines

The Whatifi library currently features 10 original interactive movies that are completely free to watch alone or with friends.

ANATOMY OF A DECISION (drama, comedy, adventure)
Meet Junior, a boy conceived at a fertility clinic — your choices define his fate.

As strange things start happening surrounding his new mirror, James can’t help but wonder if it was a blessing or a curse.

AS DEAD AS IT GETS (supernatural, mystery, fantasy)
The story of intrigue and scheming among ghosts at an old hotel where everyone has an agenda.

An interactive comedy centred on Jack’s encounters with various instances of customer support agents and service providers.

SAVE LUNA (thriller, horror)
In a dystopian world a couple must risk everything to save their terminally ill daughter.

With the Best Party Person Award on the line, Ross and AJ must scramble to get the perfect gift.

HOUSE HACK (comedy, horror, thriller)
A budding R&B artist finds herself under attack by otherworldly forces when babysitting for her superstar DJ friend. Will your choices help Jane get out of the haunted house?

A series about Jonny's desperate attempts to try and become a US citizen or to get on a better visa before his student visa runs out.

THE BIG GAME (comedy)
It's their two year anniversary, and for this boyfriend, making it special represents the biggest game of the season — unfortunately, his game plan appears to be leaving her breathless for all the wrong reasons.

What would you do if you were randomly sucked into a TV? Find out if your decisions would help you get out of it!

It would be great if it worked but right after the second choice the game froze and no matter how many times I closed it out and tried to start it again it wouldn't play! It kept claiming that I had no internet connection even though I did I had 5 bars both on wifi and on mobile data but kept saying that it's reconnecting. Then after the 7th time I tried it was still saying that it was reconnecting but behind the orange screen the movie was playing but I couldn't interact with it! Eko is better.

I was super pleasantly surprised by the app. I love the social aspect of it, even though when I downloaded it I had more of the mentality of 'Finally! I can watch a movie that doesn't have a main character making the most blantantly illogical decisions all the time!' Besides it being a little finicky when voting, it's a really interesting and interactive experience that I think is really fun. Plus, no ads! Definite recommend.

Thanks, Hatinf! You’re right, dilemmas in the movie cannot be a gimmick or an afterthought. They have to make sense in the story, and our writers and directors have done a great job respecting the viewer in that sense. As for any finicky stuff, drop us a note at support@whatifi.com to let us know how we can improve it. Cheers!

Solid concept. There are some things I'd like to suggest. The app doesn't fit on my phone, which is 22:9. Also, monetization. Where do you make the money? Do you have plans to make this a paid or ad based service? Netflix tried something similar, but I think this makes more sense. I appreciate the social aspect, but I'd prefer a way to do this individually without the interaction buttons. Speaking of, I want an option for those to disappear until I tap, like a lot of services. Great idea guys!😁

Thanks, Aaron! You made some good points there and we’ll include them in our design meetings. Like Social is the horse to our movies’ carriage. If you split them, one starts to rot away and the other falls asleep. As for monetization, we’re not big fans of in-app ads. However the platform evolves, we’ll have users’ sanity in mind. :)

Just some bug fixes and improvements this time. The equivalent of vitamins and minerals to keep the app healthy.
