This last update which took away the general status feed really ruined the app for me. The status feed brought a sense of openness and community which was the whole aim of AIM and now the app feels really closed off and isolated to me. It's these unwarranted and shortsighted changes that are preventing AIM from getting back to its former glory.
Wow forcing updates on people when some us didn't update because of the decision the company made to take away the stream. I see the comments below how you guys had to make a hard decision and is unpleasant for some. EVERYONE is upset the status is gone. So bring it back. We liked to be able to post and see statuses. Why not make other decisions that actually improve the app rather than take away something ALL your customers like.
Honestly, I'm highly pissed off. I have been using aim since dial up AOL in the early 2000's. How dare you take away the status stream. Clearly, you are going to lose a LOT of customers. Have fun with that. Also, either reply with a genuine comment or not at all. I don't think wanna ready your copy and paste bullshit.
took away the feed. feels like there's no point. there's a huge community of people who enjoyed and even relied on having it. saying youre a growing and changing company is nonsense. not because its not true, but because your priorities are clearly skewed. i hate to say it, but at this rate, AIM is going to end up losing a lot of people and end up eventually shutting down completely like MSN did years ago.
I love this app but with the new android update, I get a little notification every time I get or send an IM that says "links may not work because the Android system is updating". I've tried reinstalling twice, but it still happens. And it's very annoying.
Years ago AOL tried to force a chat room change on us. We didn't go for it and the old chat room format returned to what it is now. Growth doesn't mean alienating your loyal followers. Dumb move. We can always stop payments, stop coming to your site and impact your bottom line. Perhaps April Fools Day may show the power of AIM / AOL subscribers if the issues aren't resolved.
