iJaihoon - acclaimed as the world’s first app of an Indian author - celebrates the creative journey of Mujeeb Jaihoon, the UAE-based Indian Writer, Orator and Wanderer.
Mujeeb Jaihoon is an Indian-born writer and socio-cultural commentator based in the UAE. As a prolific traveler, Jaihoon has extensively traveled to cradles of ancient civilizations in various parts of the world. He also serves as director at several educational institutions, besides playing an advisory role in community development projects. Jaihoon is a regular speaker on issues pertaining to education and women empowerment, besides being a vocal critic of wars and injustice. He has authored nine books including Slogans of the Sage and The Cool Breeze From Hind.
His published books include Mission Nizamuddin (2010), acclaimed as world’s first Twitter-based micro travelogues across North India well as several poetic anthologies. Slogans of the Sage (2017), an illustrated coffee table book of aphorisms, has been warmly received by Manmohan Singh, former Indian PM, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance, and other eminent academicians, interfaith activists around the globe including Lee Wesissman, the Twitter-famed Jewish activist.
Dubbed as a ‘mystical discourse on Indian Indigeneity’, The Cool Breeze From Hind (2018), a semi-fictional novel, treats the reader to a mystic feast of brilliant visual metaphors and powerful imagery with a rare poetic-prose prowess unique to this UAE-based Indian storyteller. Jaihoon alerts readers about the dangers of the demonic Monoculture, which wounds the spirit of India’s pluralistic and secular fabric. Adopting a mystic narrative reminiscent of medieval Sufism, the book celebrates India as a multicultural haven of diversity and tolerance: the Gulistan.
In 2017, a college magazine in Kerala listed Jaihoon among the ‘Golden Fighters’ along with Prakash Yashwant Ambedkar, Medha Patkar and Nick Ut, the Vietnamese American photographer for the Associated Press. He was also featured in Young Indian Visionaries, a thoughtfully researched compilation that profiled the vision and success of 70 young Indian visionaries in UAE.
Jaihoon has dedicated his existence to speaking through the written word. His work is his reward. He stands on foundations of unbroken humility. Jaihoon is his anonymous alias; weaving light and inspiration into every moment of his awe-inspiring work. While the fruit of Jaihoon’s efforts are grounded in contemporary society, the roots of his passion are timeless. His heart aches for mankind, albeit turning figments of despair into unbreakable joy, channelizing the energy to education and women empowerment. Jaihoon continues to prove his worth as a talented, passionate writer, combining distinct creativity with level-headed logic to turn heads and inspire men and women globally.
He presently lives with his family in the emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
iJaihoon is the first of its kind, but surely not the last. The app features the mystic works of this tireless traveler and energetic writer. It unveils true promise in a world full of demonic deceit.
