About this app

Every year, one-third of food is thrown away. Too Good To Go is trying to change that. Use the app to rescue Surprise Bags filled with delicious, surplus food from businesses near you.

How it works is simple:

• Search the map to find a restaurant, cafe, or shop near you that has unsold food
• Buy the food through the app from as little as £2/2€
• Collect your food at the pre-set time, and enjoy it knowing you’ve done something good for the planet

Choose from stores such as Costa Coffee, Greggs, Caffè Nero, Morrisons, Planet Organic, LEON, YO!, and your favourite local independents - more than 90,000 stores fight food waste with us across Europe and North America, with more joining every day.

And the best bit? Every Surprise Bag you rescue saves 2.5kg of CO2e - the same as it would take to charge 440 smartphones.

What a great app. The variety of restaurants and groceries provided enough food for me to get by on in a super tight week. I've spent perhaps $25 and gotten over $100 in delicious food. The app works well in all aspects, even if it has the very faddish 'side scrolling' instead of logical up and down scrolling It does keep giving me an error of 'we can't do that right now', after it asks me to list the items in the bags. Add a feature. Add notifications for favorites!

Nice concept, but poor execution. My first order and the store was closed 30 mins before the pickup window started. There is an apparent breakdown in communication between the stores, app, and users. Store closures are likely to happen from time to time and the app need as way to coordinate that. Developers, I hope you take this anecdotal evidence seriously and focus on the fundamental logistics of the service. Fun and novel features are nice, but only when the service functions properly.

Awesome. App works seamlessly. Smooth UI, a cinch to use. Also, what a fantastic idea! This weekend we picked up six orders from three restaurants. Not only did we enjoy great food for a few $ we also dropped some off at a small homeless camp, which is where I think the food needs to go. I know I feel like my soul has been nourished when I give from my own abundance. Try it. Buy a bag (or 2, or 3...) to give to someone in need. It might just make someone's day.
