Daily Sudoku Herald gives you one sudoku every morning, and the rule changes every day: classic, killer sudoku, jigsaw sudoku, sudoku X, thermo sudoku. Five variants take turns, in a game set like the puzzle page of a newspaper: paper, ink, and digits written in ballpoint.
ONE PUZZLE A DAY
• Every morning, a new numbered edition: the same number and the same rule for every player.
• The difficulty follows the week: easy on Monday and Tuesday, medium from Wednesday to Friday, hard at the weekend.
• Your very first daily puzzle is served easy, whatever the day.
• A missed day is not lost: the last 60 editions stay open in the archive.
FIVE SUDOKU VARIANTS
• Classic sudoku: rows, columns and 3×3 boxes.
• Sudoku X (diagonal): both main diagonals also hold the digits 1 to 9.
• Killer sudoku: the digits in a dotted cage add up to the number in its corner.
• Jigsaw sudoku (irregular): nine free-form regions replace the boxes.
• Thermo sudoku: digits increase from the bulb to the tip.
New to a variant? An illustrated rule card appears before the grid and stays one tap away during the game.
FREE PLAY
• Pick a rule, then a difficulty: easy, medium or hard.
• Grids are generated on your device: play as many as you like.
• A best time for each difficulty.
SOLVING TOOLS
• Pencil notes, eraser and undo.
• A counted number of hints: 3 to 5 per grid, depending on the difficulty.
• Timer with pause, and a mistake counter.
• Autosave: close the app, your grid is waiting.
STREAK, RANKS AND LOGBOOK
• Your day streak sits at the top of the home page, and the archive keeps your best streak.
• Five ranks, from Apprentice to Editor-in-Chief, that never go down.
• A monthly logbook, stamped for every daily puzzle you solve.
• A result summary that shows no digit of the grid, ready to copy and share.
• An optional daily reminder, at the time you choose.
COMFORT
• A "night paper" dark mode that follows your device setting.
• The grid is described cell by cell for screen readers.
• Available in 14 languages.
NO ACCOUNT, PLAYS OFFLINE
No account to create, nothing to set up. Grids are generated on your device: the daily puzzle and free play both work with no connection, on the subway or on a plane.
ADS, IN PLAIN WORDS
The game is free and funded by ads. No banners, and no ad forced on you during a grid. In free play, an ad may be offered between two grids: it is announced first, and you can decline it. When you run out of hints, an optional short video gives you one more.
See you tomorrow, for the next edition.
