Everything about iOS is designed to be easy. That includes switching to it. With just a few steps, you can migrate your content automatically and securely from your Android device with the Move to iOS app. No need to save your stuff elsewhere before switching from Android. The Move to iOS app securely transfers all kinds of content for you:
Contacts
Message history
Camera photos and videos
Web bookmarks
Mail accounts
Calendars
When you choose to migrate your data, your new iPhone or iPad will create a private Wi-Fi network and find your nearby Android device running Move to iOS. After you enter a security code, it will begin transferring your content and put it in the right places. Just like that. Once your content has been transferred, you’re ready to get going. iOS will also set up your default mail account. That’s it — you can start using your new iPhone or iPad and experiencing its endless possibilities. Enjoy.
Move to iOS is supported on all phones and tablets running Android 4.0 and later.

Good for apple lovers Let's be realistic apple is okay if you use it for simple things like business but if you want true freedom then android is the way to go because you don't get nickle and dimed at every corner. Those defending apple need to wake up and smell the modern day coffee. Apple has a lot of features that are still stuck in the past especially when it comes to there ios. But apple tech always seems to be three years in the past.

This app only works when you're setting up or resetting iPhone. I also took the previous reviewer's suggestion of removing wifi settings on both phones. This helped make the process of transferring the files easy. However, not all of the apps got transferred, which was expected, and a few of the photos my daughter sent me by text ended up in separate text messages. That being said, I highly advise backing up the Android phone prior to transferring any data.

Worked! Thanks so much. I loved my android and was planning on switching to iphone anyway. Being able to transfer 11gb worth of to my new iphone so easily was fantastic. Also, after seeing all these butthurt comments about apple I doubt I'll be going back to android anytime soon. Js you all in the comments seriously need to chill.

This app is laughable Wow so you make an app to transfer from Android to iPhone but you don't have an app to transfer back if they're unsatisfied with their switch and lose all of their contacts messages data Etc apple is just plain evil and needs to die like the long-distance companies of the eighties and nineties

Blah Why move to a horrible mobile OS? One that locks everything down, by a company who cripples their older devices with software updates. Android gives me freedom. I can download whatever i want to my phone and use it how i want. A mobile computer! You cant even copy PDFs from emails to iPhone because iOS doesnt have a file manager.

Dumbass shit I just downloaded to comment on how stupid this is how are you going to have apps on your opponents app store android is stupid for allowing it and apple is stupid for expecting people to want this. we all chose android for a reason im not gonna get into the details but i just hope this dunbass app gets taken down

Think a lot better about your apps Apple sucks. Basically it has restrictions on its phones and you need to jailbreak it...but it is different on Android. Even Windows surpasses my standards! And come to think of it, Apple does not release any transfer to other phones...all because it is so protective of its users. My only protip for Apple is: be more open
Great App This app made me realize that Android users are the most annoying bunch of babies who still live in their mom's basement. Apple doesn't care about your sad and petty comments. You people treat Apple like they're starting a genocide, or killing puppies. Great app for those who want to move to a more secure OS, with guaranteed updates, rather than have an Android device where the OEM decides to no longer support, so it's full of security holes. But hey, customization is more important than security, right? 😂
Apple, you are acknowledging why Android is so good. You made an app that can transfer all user data to a different device, with a different OS. But if they want to switch back to Android, they'll have a hard time finding a simple app to do the job, because iOS is so restrictive. Android is open, and you should be too. Write a license if you must, so people don't abuse your code. But don't lock them into your ecosystem, and make them lose everything if they want to go back.
F**k off. I didn't hire a hitman to kill Steve Jobs so Apple could make this offensive app. The thing is, I'd be ok with this if there was also an iOS to Android app, along with an iOS to Windows Phone. Apple would never allow these things to happen. Sort of like Nazis. Come to think about it a lot of the reasons I hate Apple are similar to the reasons people hated Nazis. To round this off I just want to point out that Android's dictionary has iOS in it, but Apple's doesn't have capitalized Android in it.
Iphone must be reset first Great app if you knew about it. Not so great if you need to transfer data into a iphone you just broke a week in with, grew to like and tweak, and just need to port a few contacts. For all the talk of making things simple Google still does a better job moving my info between phones instantly thats y I went a week without thinking to get the rest!
I tried iOS but it's a bad user experience! IOS has been patched over and over again, like Windows Vista. IOS doesn't let you do many things. They try to control everything. You're not free as with Android. Devices are overpriced and lack many features. Apple fears competition, that's why they patent everything.
Funny, ha ha Apple is evil. So is Microsoft. Switch to the open source android and Linux operating systems to see how things work when people are allowed, no encouraged to make improvements and enhancements that improve OS performance. When there's no greedy corporate business trying to make money off every added feature it then people really began making progress.
Didn't connect just times out. So iPhone gives 10 digits, enter into app nothing happens. #AppleFail. Then apple ID fails to send verification code. Apple support useless. Took phone back got a new Samsung Edge now.
Just... wow. So, glad to see the draconian Apple is breaking its own app guidelines. Whatever happened to "no reference to other mobile platforms"? Even if it's not on the surface, it's also banned from being in the source code. Thanks for the sucker punch. Goodbye.
The Fake Comments that Apple has Done is Hillarious I've been scrolling through the comment section on this stupid and pointless app and found so many spam comments. I mean, it is pointless. The reason it is so lowly rated us because it doesn't work and who wants to downgrade to iOS? Android is light-years ahead of Apple in so many ways. Apple is dying. They are too late to the cool kids party. Let Apple die in peace.
Moving to iOS...?!?! At least you have a sense of humor! Google please remove this ridiculous app... Apple will NEVER allow a similar one on their "App store"! Android is a light years ahead of iOS! Apple brainwash people to make them buy their products... It's the same as someone trying to convince you to buy a Mercedes made in China... No thank you!
Won't work Have spent hours trying to get it to work. Keeps going back to the enter code screen, or sometimes it gets as far as saying "can't migrate, try again later". Would have saved time writing all my messages and contacts out by hand.
You are not the product you use. Do you guys giving this zero stars have any idea how absurd you sound? It is a consumer product, not a political revolution. It is a tool. Why are you so invested in promoting a corporate rivalry? If you think your phone choice makes some big statement about you as a person, your personality is clearly lacking to begin with. This is just truly sad consumerist shilling.
It really doesn't work! Just tried to transfer from my brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 multiple times to my brand new iPhone 6S. I thought the reviews on here were fake -- surely hard-core Android die-hard kind of people must have written these nasty reviews. Unfortunately, the things people are saying about this app are mostly true. It simply doesn't work. After generating the pin code and then entering it and doing everything correctly, a box pops up stating that this device may not have internet access. After pressing accept, a new box pops up saying the process was interrupted. Doing the process over resulted in an infinite loop!
Great and legit apps Do proper research online before reviewing this app as useless. It works if you follow the guideline. Dont simply trash this app. Well maybe you all got hurt when in the end,the app reccomend you to recycle your android phone *lol*
Transfer interrupted' Does this app even work? Tried what the forums said bout doing on airplane mode. Contacted apple support, told me to contact samsung, samsung then said to contact the devs. Really??? S4->6s pissed off.
It's really good! I wiped my iPod just to see how well this works. And, to the people who are saying "Why would you want to move to iOS" I have yet to see a Move to Android...
I tried to use this to move from a Samsung Galaxy S2 to a brand-new iPhone 6S. The process fails: I can enter the code, and both devices will show "preparing...' for a few seconds, but then a message pops up "Move failed, try again later". I have tried all the suggestions I found on the comments: put Android phone in airplane mode, 'forget' all wifi connections, reboot phones, but this is not working.
Apple Abusing the Openness of Android This right here, my fellow free people, is an example of why Apple is evil. Apple can place an app in the Google Play Store for moving from Android to iOS, but if any developer developed such an app for the other direction and tried to place it in the Apple App store, they would probably get banned! This shows Apple's tyrannical and manipulating nature. We need a full boycott on everything made by Apple. Join me in a revolution against evil!
Since everyone else is... Since everyone else is using this to proclaim their love to Crapple, I figured I'd balance the scales. Moving to iOS was a horrible HORRIBLE experience and if you're dumb enough to buy one of those things, then you're probably dumb enough to overpay for it.
iOS is restricted Dont get iOS! They treat all their users like prisoners with a bag over their head and they dont know anything but Android is like running free in a field and I feel like I can truly make my phone my phone.
IPhone sucks Don't make just like the mistake I made. I look at all my friends phones and they all had iphones so I am buaght one. It was the most useless thing I have ever buaght ever.
Allow landscape mode Hi, in trying to use this to move to iOS but the top of my screen is cracked. I can't click next in the app! If this app rotated I'd be able to manipulate my way around.... ugh... The app is useless if I can't get to the screen to type in my code...
Don't make the switch! Read this! At first I wasn't sure, the iPhone looked good. I decided to make the switch. Immediately the awesome power of my samsung was drained and tossed aside. The app used some kind of magic to make the iPhone terrible. I was left with my iPhone. It was slow, ugly, and I couldn't change its looks. I used a magic spell to go back in time and I didn't buy the iPhone. Don't get an iPhone.
Why on Earth would somebody want to switch to an iPhone? 😏 I haven't used it but I saw that the rating was 2.5 so I just had to contribute. You know, Apple doesn't even belong to this planet, let alone Play Store. iPhone is for iDiots.
Requires you to reset whole phone Unless you use it before actually switching on iPhone for the first time, you need to reset the whole phone and it's painful and not practical. Most of ppl need to transfer after setting up iPhone. Useless for majority and there is no such warning before.
Thanks but no thanks It copied contacts, messages and calendar. Great. For email, it set up only my gmail account, 'forgetting' about other four. For corresponding apps, it installed/informed about only a handful, most of which I had on android disabled/uninstalled anyway as they were Samsung bloatware. Well done. Had to look myself for other apps I use (exactly same names on iOS as android),then setup email.. Anyway, getting back to Samsung after all, iPhone, although pretty, proved very limiting my moves and choices. Sorry, love!
A real heap of dung! If it works for you then great. But I wasted an hour getting it to communicate with my Samsung Galaxy before it graciously copied 6 of my 300+ contacts to my new 6s. I got an iPhone because apples are supposed to be super reliable, at this moment I'm regretting my choice.
This did not work at all Sure wish I could talk to a real person. If I knew what I was doing I would not need help would I? Thank you so much for absolutely nothing. I think I will be returning this phone since I can't get any real help in figuring it out.
0 STARS! This right here is a perfect example of showing how desperate Apple is to take Android's constumers. If you don't like Android get a Galaxy! If you like iPhone get an Android! I installed this stupid app to leave a stupid review. This is what kids nowadays do!
This app is amazing! I don't understand why it got such a bad review. I used it to transfer the data from my Samsung galaxy s5 to my iPhone 6s and it was really helpful😃 every one needs to stop saying bad things about apple because it was nice of them for thinking of this. It is very helpful for those of us that got an iPhone and wanted to transfer our contacts and photos instead of starting over.
Failed! I wanted this app to work. No Apple store near me so move to ios promised me a way to go from my Samsung Galaxy S3 to iPhone 6. Hours spent trying to get it to work but no such luck. Don't waste your time. Just manually copy your contacts & other data.
Android's segmented development, problematic handsets, and bigger than Texas sizing finally drove me to Apple. This app worked quickly, and I had no issues with missing data/contacts/etc. I backed everything up beforehand just in case, but haven't had to retrieve them. Short story: Apple haters might not like it, but the app works. So booyah.
This crap doesn't work I tried to move files (text messages) from Samsung Note3 to Iphone6+ countless times without success. Can't pass failed connection on Note3
