Collecta + is a participatory science application dedicated to the knowledge of heritage thanks to the drawings of Gaignières, a learned traveler of the 17th century.
At the end of the 17th century, François-Roger de Gaignières, an enlightened amateur keen on history, traveled through France with his designer, Louis Boudan, to survey the monuments of the kingdom. With your knowledge of the terrain and local history, you can contribute to our research program.
The application gives you easy access to the digital reconstruction of the Gaignières collection to explore all the buildings reproduced. From your geolocation, or quite simply by exploring the map, you will follow in those of the historian by creating "notebooks" linked to each drawing. In a notebook, you can take a photo and compare it with the original drawing, but also send us comments on the current state of the monuments and thus participate in making known the history of the local heritage.
