You want me to pay $7.99 per month AND bog down the app with so much intrusive advertising the user experience is negatively effected? Stop with the money grab. One or the other please.
Slow to open. Difficult to find stories you're looking at in the hard copy. Weird. No comments
Solid news reporting, though there is a degree of bias.

The content is great. I subscribe to the LA Times because their reporting is good, both locally and globally. But they are severely let down by their app. It has a poor interface (articles appear repeatedly in various categories, so the categories are essentially meaningless); the app crashes frequently; articles and headlines take a long time to load compared to similar apps (eg the Washington Post); and advertising pop ups are tacky and sometimes hard to close, which is frustrating in an app with paid content. Still, the content is good. Update Nov. 2017: most articles are now accompanied by autoplay videos that take up valuable screen space and consume bandwidth. Come on... this is ridiculous.
