Semantic Links

Semantic Links is a professional speech therapy app that works on the comprehension of verbs, the ability to link verbs to nouns/objects as well as verb retrieval. Designed to help people with brain injury and aphasia from stroke, it is also a valuable tool for older children with special needs including autism and language delay.

Activity 1: Verb Comprehension

In this activity, the person is required to understand the verb in the sentence and link it to an object e.g. “What do you sleep on?”, “What do you eat?”, “What do you watch?”. The person can choose from a choice of 2-6 possible objects.

Activity 2: Verb Retrieval

In this activity, the person is asked to retrieve a verb that can be linked to the pictured object e.g. “What do you do to a football?”, “What do you do to a cat?”.

As many verbs can be linked to many different objects, there is often more than one correct answer. Set choices of 2-4 possible verbs are available for those who have difficulty retrieving a suitable verb.

The app includes:

- Over 200 high-quality real-life photos of objects

- Adjustable difficulty levels and content

- Results summary that can be emailed

- Results tracking and inbuilt storage

- No subscriptions, no monthly bills, no Wi-Fi needed
