Review from Neil Peelman
Does not play MPEG-2, must buy separate codec - $5 Does not play MPEG-2, must buy separate codec for $5. Glad I didn't buy the full version. Because with the additional codec purchase the price doubles. Though the user interface is great and network browsing is quick, I will still us MX player instead since its free and played the codecs.
add tilt video control First of all, it's a great player. Esp, the feature to play video from the network server. This help me reduce a lot of time to d/l the movies to my phone. Anyway, since I'm mostly use it with the gear VR to view 3D movies, so found that it's quite inconvenience when scrolling the movies forward/backward. It would be nice if I can control the video by tilting the mobile instead of touching the screen.
Great... Except.. Some bugs If u want to use Archos. Don't use android N yet. Passthrough doesn't work yet. Also need a 3D stamp on 3D movies for TV just like the phones. Then I would rats 5 star :)
No Chromecast As one of the better video players on Android, I don't understand why it isn't Chromecast-enabled. Latest update introduced frequent stuttering too. Expected more from Archos. Maybe time to look for an alternative.
Latest update has made it useless After the latest update audio pass through is not working properly and playback is stuttering all over the place. Please fix as this is my favourite video app
File is damaged or incomplete No - the video files aren't. Uninstall.
No passthrough 5.1 sound. Poor support for greek subs.
- fix external storage indexing in Android M
- initial Android N preview support limited to video hardware codec playback only
- update multimedia software codec pack (libav)
