I was looking for something similar to Tasker or IFTTT. Tasker is far to complex for my needs and it has a very high learning curve. IFTTT does not have the (out of the box) flexibility to make it useful for me. Macro droid is almost perfect for my every day needs and it is very simple to use. Without referring to any help screens, within my 1st hour I created 2 macros to control how my phone connects to my cars Bluetooth. After automatically connecting to BT, it starts Pandora, tells me that Pandora has started, it starts Google Maps' Driving Mode and tells me it has started, sets the screen timeout to "never", adjusts the screens brightness, adjusts the volume, and finally announces the time. The 2nd macro is basically the same thing in reverse to return my phone to my basic settings. This app is definitely in the "Goldilocks Zone".
Literally the only app I've ever upgraded to the Pro version!.. If you take your time and be creative, you can replace entire apps with macros that work as good if not better!..
Wide range of features. Tones of different triggers and actions. However I would like to see actions for enabling/disabling accessibility settings. Specifically the mono audio setting. I like having my music set to a mono signal when I'm only using one earbud. Using a Macrodroid trigger to do so would make that process easier.
This is a great app. It has a easy to use interface and a lot of templates made by the community members too. The only issue I have is that I personally wish the community templates were organised better so I could view by category for instance I would love to search through categories like car, travel , music , WiFi etc. I bought the pro version because personally I think the extra options are worth it. With just a little polish to the community area of this app it would be perfect.
Great app that is very useful to control your device, but if you want to control a LifX or Hue light this app will not work. But this app is neat to do simple things as setting up a alarm when you a SMS containing "GET UP".
The fun things and useful automation you can acquire with this app is so numerous that you can't even keep with 5 macros only. I'm not the guy of rating apps but this one I went Pro and tagged it 5/5 because it is worth it
