I'm still not 100% on how I feel about this. I'm mostly new to Mage, and wanted something interactive and single-player to get my feet wet. After finishing it, I'm not sure if I have a better understanding of the world of Mage, or if this confusion was exactly the point. Either way, I don't think this is what I was looking for, but still enjoyed the experience. The story was alright but confusing at times, the graphics could give some people headaches but fit with the theme, and the sfx was great. For $5, it falls a little flat for just an artistic CYOA, but I'm happy I got it, since I mostly enjoyed it and want to support the IP.
If it were only a mediocre game, I would give a 5 stars for the sake of the setting but this is below that. What a wasted opportunity. The story is too pushy on politics, whether you agree on the views or not, "message over story" approach is blunt. The character development is too linear. -an old WOD fan-
I can't get through even the beginning because of the graphics and color choices. They're giving me a migraine and making me nauseous. I bought this because I've been a fan of White Wolf games since VtM 1st Edition. This is such a big let down, and I want my money back.
Lots of fun, an air of confusion and a touch of mystery this text based game really does bring the mage world to life. For the price it should have been longer. Or should have neen cheaper. 6.50 just seems a bit steep for a game I finished in around an hour. I went back to get an alternate ending and retry one of the days. But replayability is low. Gave 4 stars because had this game been 2.99 i would have given it 5 stars and complained i couldnt have given it 6
Enjoyable for Mage players, but not a good intro to the setting. I agree with the politics but it was preachy. Definitely want more Mage games, I know they can be better. :)
Experimental and unnerving. This is a very well-executed, immersive piece of prose.
