A FANTASTIC WAY TO DISCOVER THE TICKET TO RIDE SERIES
Ticket to Ride: First Journey is part of the famous Ticket to Ride board game series. In this version, players can embark on their very first ride and visit major European and American cities. The game is easy for the whole family to play together. The youngest players can now challenge the most experienced in Ticket to Ride First Journey.                                                                                        

CONNECT THE CITIES TO GET YOUR 6 TICKETS!  
Collect train cards, claim routes on the map and try to connect the cities shown on tickets. Each player starts with four colored train cards and two tickets. Each ticket shows two cities, and the aim is to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket.
On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards of matching color to claim a route between two cities. Once you complete a route, you will be given a new one. The first player to complete the six tickets wins. It takes a little risk but it's lots of fun!

Share this adventure until 4 players on the same device thanks to the pass and play mode. If you want to play in solo, you can just play versus the AI.

Ratings and reviews

Graphic make the board a little cluttered and some places the routes are hard for little ones to spot. I'm a nursery teacher and had some great success playing this with 4 and 5 yos and working together as a team against the AI. Ideal difficulty level for this age group and can actually link up to lots of curriculum points!

The animations are incredibly slow. I wanted to play more but couldn't finish the second game. After seeing the city characters bounce and whistle for the 50th time I was going crazy. If you finish a route and east to west you might be watching 10-15 of them in sequence. Not just for yourself but when AI players do things too, even just switching player or placing trains is slow. Can't imagine playing 4 players. We'd be handing the phone around too because there's no online multiplayer mode.

A good intro to basics of ticket to ride. With bots at medium or higher difficulty it does make it challenging. I felt that 3 players was optimum. With 4 players I felt the game left you with too few choices too quickly. Still, I think it is a very good game and not just for kids. Good on 5 inch screen. Works on Motorola Z3. Great for quick play while waiting for an appointment. You also get the Europe map free if you sign in with an Asmodee account.

What's new

0.3.27 version: improvement of the articifial intelligence. It will draw new objectives when the routes of its current objectives are blocked by the human players.
