4 stars for the unmatched sound quality. 5 stars if they add in MQA support for LG V30 for them tidal masters. Edit: MQA support for LG v30 added as of March 1st. Review has been updated to 5 stars. Noticed difference in noise floor of tracks and a huge increase in headroom which allows me to play about 20-30% louder than before. MASTER experience identical to the PC application.
The Hifi quality is everything I've been waiting for in a streaming service; this is how music should be listened to. I love the interface, everything seems to clean and flows well. There's constantly newly curated playlists and other content in the Home page, they seem to do that better than other services. I had the 6 month trial and couldn't let it go afterwards. I love that I could just add it to my Sprint bill. I'm in. I tell everyone I know.
It's a great music app in which I'm using the free trail still, but if I am going to be paying monthly I don't want to keep uninstalling and reinstalling it because it stops playing certain songs overtime or because it loses connection while I'm in WiFi multiple times. Plus it would be cool if they made well playlist based off of some and artist who they think that we would like just like Spotify does. That is where they have the upper hand.
It's OK if you're looking for hip-hop, rap or pop music. If you're searching for Rammstein, you won't find any of their albums. The same applies for european electro/dance. I repeat, for american hip hop, it's just fine but not for something else. Explore new tracks playlist is just a joke compared to google's music play, for example. In Tidal, there are just a few new songs a week. When it comes about the app itself, there are a lot of features missing. No duplicate checking for playlists, no sleeping timer, rewind when the screen is locked, etc. However, the graphics are great, I really enjoy 'em.
I wish you had a rating systems for albums and single tracks. I just listen to Lol Yachty's new album and it's just terrible. I wish there was a rate system that gave me a fair warning weather the album is good or not. Btw, Could there be a store within the app? I love streaming music but I be more than happy to pay an additional price to own the album or track on my phone. Not just downloaded within the app. Then I can add some songs with my playlist on my phone and SD card.
Love the service, the music is more refined if a bit cluttered in the app. I like some of the unique options but seriously it keeps telling me to "synchronise offline music" or something like that. I rather download it only once if i haven't deleted it before. I also wish it didn't crash so much either. Seriously
