About this app

FORScan Lite application was developed specially for a computer diagnostic of Ford, Mazda, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.

Supported adapters:
- OBDLink MX+ (recommended)
- vLinker FD BT (recommended)
- other ELM327-compatible BT or WiFi adapter (not recommended). Attention: this application may not work properly in case of bad quality ELM327 adapter used!
- USB adapters are also supported, but using it doesn't provide any significant benefits because USB in Android devices is usually slow and also because FORScan Lite contains no "heavy" configuration and programming functions.

Supported cars:
- Ford, Lincoln, Mercury models of 1996 - 2022MY (some models of 1994-1995MY are also supported)
- Mazda models of 1996 - 2022MY. Attention: Mazda 7G models (new Mazda 3, CX-30, MX-30, CX-50 etc) are supported partially or not supported!
- Vehicles other than Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, Mercury are not supported!

- Analyzing an on-board network configuration of the connected vehicle.
- Read and reset diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) for all modules.
- Read sensors and other data (PIDs) from all modules.
- Running manufacturer-specific functions, including tests and service functions.

Note: Configuration and Programming functions, as well as some of service functions, are not available in FORScan Lite.

FORScan Lite worked when I first bought it. But after an update earlier this year it is no longer able to connect to my ELM wireless adapter. Other apps can connect to it without problem, so it must be an issue with this app. Too bad, the desktop version has been very useful and reliable for many years. I was hoping for a similar experience with the mobile version, but it has turned out to be a waste of money. Unless you have a $50+ adapter that the developers recommend, I'd skip this app.

It provides a lot of functionality, but be careful about what adapter you choose. I had a Bluetooth adapter that worked fantastic with other apps, but FORScan absolutely refused to connect to it. Ended up having to use a USB adapter with it. Its UI can also be a bit awkward and confusing at times, so it will take some getting used to.

This is a great tool. It contains a lot of PIDs that other apps don't have out of the box. It's also great for service functions (module resets, TPMS learning mode, calibrations, etc.) It's very powerful if you own a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda. The only downside is that it's more for diagnostics than it is for dashboard viewing and lacks customization features. Other apps such as Torque, DashCommand, OBDLink, etc provide a much better dashboard/gauge view but lack the diagnostic capabilities.
