aSuggestion is borne of the notion that our daily life experiences are improved when, from time to time, we have the ability to openly and honestly offer a suggestion or comment to our peers and coworkers. Existing social media improve upon the ways in which we communicate with our friends and family, share our thoughts and photos, network with our colleagues, etc. While important, none of these media are designed for the type of anonymous comment sharing offered through aSuggestion.
The original inspiration of aSuggestion is to become the medium through which employees can offer commentary to honestly and sincerely suggest improvements for daily function in the workplace. A critical aspect of this communication is the ability to offer a suggestion anonymously, thereby encouraging the "suggestor" to speak freely and honestly. Unlike your handwritten suggestion left in the company suggestion box, aSuggestion ensures that your suggestions -- be they minor or relatively major -- are delivered without fear of reprisal.
With freedom, however, comes the responsibility of self-governance. aSuggestion is not designed for the exchange of a suggestion or a comment that is fiery or hateful, and such posts will be removed. Further, suggestors need always consider the perspective of the reader. If one truly wishes to improve the workplace and to create an open forum for comment sharing, constructive criticism is required (remember catching more flies with honey than vinegar?).
As mentioned earlier, the original inspiration of the service is to affect positive and meaningful change at work. If aSuggestion is a medium to improve our occupations, why not extend this functionality to other areas of our lives as well?
Try using aSuggestion to send suggestions from:
- parents to schools
- patients to hospitals
- players to teams
- citizens to municipalities
- parishoners to clergy
- and more (the possibilities are as endless as your needs).
aSuggestion. Life Improved.
