Have been enjoying titles non-stop. I cannot have my purchased audiobook CDs (many already, like Game of Thrones,... ) in the same library. Some titles are not available in US as an audio-book e.g. "Dark Lord of Derkholm" by Diana Wynne Jones. I think this is not just US: " We're sorry. Due to publishing rights restrictions, we are not authorized to sell this item in the country where you live."
I love listening to books. It has a car mode to make it easy to use whenever or wherever. Pretty much any book you're looking for can be found on this app. The readers are good. They know how to put emotions into the characters so it doesn't seem like your listening to a robot. Like with some other apps and readers their voices are all flat and dull and boring but not here.
I am a mother of 3. In my younger years, before children, I devoured books of all kinds, night and day. I do not have that luxury any longer so this app has been AMAZING! I listen to it while cooking, cleaning, in the car, watching the kids at the park, any available time I have. Audible has simply been the best thing to happen to this bibliophile since my youngest was born!
I love it. As an auditory learner, it works great for me. It's just exactly what my brain needs. There's a huge selection of books covering different areas. Great for learning new things. Just press play as you would do with music and get on with your day. Can't recommend it enough.
As somebody who has ADHD and dyslexia, I love the app and Audible for the best way to experience the content of books and to maintain a greater level of concentration over having to actually read actual print on paper. Also with the use of the combined linked service with Amazon Kindle you can listen to and follow the printed words on screen as a learning aid or to view images that the Author wants you to see. A full in-depth experience of a book.
So the good parts about Audible: I simply love it. I drive long distances and got so sick of hearing the same 50 song playing on the radio. Audible is a breath of fresh air. The ability to listen to all those books I never had the opportunity to read because of work. As you get into Audible you'll find that Audible listeners have favorite voice speakers. Some of whom are amazing. I did give 4 stars because of obvious software flaws that should have been improved long ago and still haven't. The biggest example is that books only separate sections by chapters. But the Bible or war and peace don't make sense with just chapters. Peter chapter 1 may make sense to a reader, but chapter 358 does not. Anyway, hope they improve that. Regardless, I'll keep listening.
Our new, simplified display makes it easy to listen while you’re in the car. To turn on Car Mode, tap the car icon on your player screen.
