They charged me for my "free first book". After a few months I decided to quit, because it's a genuinely good service but I didn't listen to many books, they told me I couldn't keep my credits. After I spent my credits on books that I didn't really have the time to review or check and didn't like, I cancelled and THEN they told me I could keep my credits after all. It's a good app and service, but they pull ***hole social engineering tricks like these. Such a good service doesn't need to scam their customers like this.
One of my 3 must have apps. The ability to be entertained and learn in the background of my life --- priceless! Some recent issues with garbled parts after downloads with "play now". Seems best to wait for full download or use parts. My favorite part is its ability to introduce me to books others who listened to my books enjoyed.
I would like a greater selection of books. That to the side this is my first real experience with audio books. I'm more of a physical book person. Having said that audible has really changed my mind. I can enjoy books now when I'm. doing other things. I don't have to b tied down. I.can clean the house and listen to a book in the same time. Easy to use. Great app.
Lackluster performance, occasionally times out and needs a force-close. Works well enough if you only have one or two blocks. Lots of waiting if you have a few dozen books. Edit: Reduced to 2 stars for getting automated unhelpful response with literally useless and redundant troubleshooting steps when sending a complete concise email in response to request.
Awesome app for busy lifestyles, heavy traffic, long commutes. App works beautifully, accurately. I'm finally back to reading books again--while still working full-time, being a supportive wife, parenting my special needs child and caretaking my elderly, live-in-mother. I had given up reading for pleasure 10 years ago...I'm back!
I was unknowingly subscribed to their gold membership. Not sure how as I am usually careful with these things. Canceling the subscription was needlessly complicated. I only caught this when I looked at my credit card expenses. They were quietly taking 15 bucks a month. To make things worse, unsubscribing was needlessly complicated. You can't even do it through the app. It looks as though it's designed to be confusing and get you to pay without your knowledge. Very upset and disappointed.
