It works usually. You need this app to get the most from the minx air speaker, so it is disappointing that it doesn't work well. Usually when I try to connect it doesn't find the speaker, but if you then select 'change device' you can see and select the speaker. But there have been many times when I haven't been able to connect at all and I have spent a lot of time trying different ways to get the app working. There is a rumoured upgrade to the app for 2015 - let's hope for the best, as I love the speaker.
Rubbish app Surely Cambridge Audio can afford to pay some techy to create a better app? As others have said it's intermittent, it doesn't work at all on my new android phone. It works the best with my ancient ipod touch. By the time it moves between stations or to find the wifi, I could make a cup of tea and drink it. I was convinced to choose this as an alternative to Sonos or Bose. Hmmm
Not fit for purpose The app connects to the minx air only once for a few seconds, then just stupid doing anything. The radio station search just hangs and finds nothing. It never ever finds the Minx air ever again. It is completely useless, I don't know how Cambridge Audio dared to release it in this state. It makes it impossible to use the speakers properly, really out is only designed for use with Apple products. If you have Android or Windows forget it. I have tried it on three different Android devices and none work.
This is bad I am gobsmacked that a company with such a high reputation for the quality of its products could even contemplate putting out such a piece of absolute rubbish. I have experienced all of the problems documented here by others. For goodness sake, Cambridge Audio, do something!
Shockingly bad Whilst the Minx Air 100 is outstanding, this app is truly appalling. It works very intermittently usually only after clearing all data and trying to connect multiple times. It is such a shame that Cambridge Audio have not been able to make this better. It is also a shame that they haven't produced a web-based interface for setting radio channels etc. I think they could (and really should) do much better if they want genuinely to compete with the bigger players in this market.
Appalling The only way to get the app to work is to uninstall it then download it again. Should be better than this
