Great app, have been using it for years. The whole GB OS maps means you're never lost and excellent value for money. Can you consider having the option to hide the trip time/green plus shortcuts to free up the screen, as it gets cluttered when using via a smaller SmartPhone
After having some difficulties installing the app and setting up the GPS, I contacted the support. They were so quick to answer and so helpful I had to leave this message and encourage everyone to download this app. Good job and thanks again!
Excellent app with access to a brilliant range of free maps worldwide, with option to purchase premium maps - like Ordnance Survey - at reasonable prices too. The app also gives access to a wide range of routes; many are free, some require a small payment. 4* rather than 5* because I find the purchasing approach via Credits cumbersome, and I find synchronisation between devices us not perfectly reliable. I don't understand why this app is not better known and more widely used. I think it is great.
Downloaded map and purchased maps for my region, assumed it was going to download the map, it does not , if you have no internet , you have no maps, however if you follow thier handy online instructions , simply go to your computers web browser, download the maps you want , plug your phone in to your computer locate the maps download folder on your phone then upload the maps that you downloaded to your computer ? Really? I guess I wasted my money on the maps I bought , Google maps, simply highlight area you want and click download, pretty disappointed in the complexity of this , who knows maybe I am dumb and missing something, but I wouldn't buy this again. !!!! Follow up..... Ok so I apologise, this app is great!!! My ignorance is well, it is, loved this app once if figured it out, absolutely amazing! Only downside has been the resolution is a little rough when zooming in , makes it hard to use at times
I've only ever used the free features of this app and am really impressed! The included maps show all available pathways in an area so I just make my own routes and set off, using the built in tracking features to record and see speed, elevation etc upon completion. And what really impressed me was opening the app on the off chance while on holiday on a small island off Dubrovnik and still it just showed me walking routes, just on the default map. Fantastic!
I use this for green lane motorcycle riding and it sits on the front of my bike on an Samsung S8+ or a Galaxy Active Tab on a Ram mount. The whole set up works really well. A bit of familiarity with paper OS maps helps but finding yourself without landmarks, bearings or a compass is really simple. It can be used over 4 devices. It is massively more intuitive than Garmin Basecamp. It is relatively easy to plan routes on, say, an IPad and then send to a Garmin Montana. This is my go to mapping and off road route planning software. The much more expensive and difficult Garmin basecamp has some minor advantages but for ease of use and price this is an excellent system.
Various fixes, including disappearing map tiles in the track screen, and ignoring the don't change scale switch.
