So useful, so well implemented. It's something I've always wanted and I'm so pleased to have. Great for route planning for walks and sightseeing. I love to use Google Navigation in the background but have this running in thr foreground so I can see points of interest as we drive past them. Only dangerous thing is the amount I'm spending on tiles, but it's worth it.
I am a regular walker leading several groups and have used dedicated (and expensive) Garmin GPS units in the past. I downloaded the Viewranger app a couple of years ago and was so impressed I bought the full UK 1:25 map. I have nothing but praise for this app – accurate, reliable and dependable. But to top this the support from the folk at Viewranger (William) was first class. He was helpful in solving my query and returned calls when I had left messages. Well done Viewranger…
I downloaded the OS app this morning, and hated it ! Downloaded ViewRanger and trial map of my area, set up a 4km route, went out and walked it. Couple of things I thought could have been better, solved once I discovered the settings screens. Got back home and tracked route prefect and very informative. No recourse to the help screens at all yet, but I see the app has a lot more capabilities. Now off to try the sync to pc. So far so very very good!
App is simplistic and only seems to cover more famous trails. It doesn't find much near me. I know of at least 20 good trails in my area. And it wants to bring up trails 200 miles away. Waste of an app.
Great app! Just what I've been looking for. Most OS maps I've tried have been to confusing to use on a small mobile phone screen. Would have given 5 stars but I can't seem to download any maps! I downloaded a route to Hove and back when I first joined earlier today, but now when I try to download a map it simply says "please wait" followed by "network unreachable". I tried turning off my WiFi and using mobile data, nothing. Deleted and reinstalled app but still nothing. Please help! Thanks :)
I've used this app for years, on symbian phones and now androids. I use it on the Foreshore, in conjunction with a tides app. The Tracks and personal favourite features are life savers in the dark or fog.
Newly designed buttons on the map and in Skyline, to be more consistent with Android Material Design.
Various bug fixes, especially affecting POIs and app start up speed.
