Excellent App A excellent app which I use when cycle touring and as a quick guide when mountaineering (though I would always take map & compass as back up in the mountains). OS maps are well priced. Pleased with recent updates and new layout, continue the good work :-)
Easy to use I love this app. The only downside is the way it follows routes, the arrow isn't always accurate and if you miss a waypoint (this is easily done, if the app thinks you're on the lefthand side of the road but you're on the right it won't register that you've past it) it doesn't skip to the next or realise you've missed one, it just keeps pointing you in the direction or the one you've missed. Had to knock a star off for that
Replaced my paper topo maps I was hoping to use this app (after evaluating another 5 apps) for just tracking and stats collection of day hikes in the French Alps. I ended up using the app for all my advance planning and mapping during the hikes as well! Excellent offline support. Maps were more up-to-date than my printed maps. Possible improvements: when zooming in too far I'm losing the height contours (probably reverts back to OpenStreetMap), would like to see total height meters in track summary, recorded track seem quite jittery.
Finally, one that I CAN use... I had been putting up with navigating software on various platforms for around 10 years. This was the first one that chimed with me. OK, it's a good start when you have familiar OS maps, but the interface was the most intuitive that I had experienced thus far. When something does work, it's easier to justify paying out AGAIN for all the maps that you've acquired over the years and desire the convenience of portability. However, the complete UI overhaul has left me a little puzzled... A square wheel IMHO.
Very handy but some disappointments Use the app every day, very good in most aspects. Unhappy with the quality of the OS Explorer maps considering the cost, they also appear to be quite out of date. Also a shame the panorama data won't work on Android. This seems a waste given they are bundled with the predefined map packs of various areas.
Still top notch (Dispite a slight surprising issue with the credit prices). Please keep up the good work! I've only downloaded this app for 5 minutes and I am just so incredibly impressed! It not only is one of the best map apps available, it IS the best available. A massive well done to the developers for this well thought out app. Its now Easier to use with all the national cycle routes on and most major trails and routes in superb detail. Unfortunately, I don't have an excuse anymore to get myself lost. TO NOTE, to buy credits for the os map downloads, it works out slightly dearer with the bigger packages.
