So there was a Google map update, and my auto unlock was working 60% better. Then I changed my router name and the feature stopped working. Re did the whole auto unlock set up, made sure my phone knew the new router name, and still nothing. Everything else works except the auto unlock. Hook us up guys, those Apple users have had the feature dialed in for a long time. Waiting patiently. Using S8 with Android 7.0.

I've been using this since spring. The auto unlock worked 70% of the time until the fall when it never worked. Since the update which uses Google maps it now works every time. Very happy with it now. Update : As of spring 2017, auto unlock now only works 30% of the time. You guys really need to get this right once and for all. Update #2 after reading on August's web site I uninstalled CCleaner and auto unlock is working better. Still not perfect but much improved.

Like most every other review on here the auto-unlock is a joke even with the GPS enabled. Why not have the option to set up 'routines' thru the app so that the owner can set up specific times of the day to have the lock unlock or recipes thru the ifttt app instead of relying on location??

Gets 1 star because I can't leave 0 stars. Auto-Unlock is a complete joke. I pretty much use my keys everytime. My girlfriend who has iPhone/Apple Watch, gets a 20% success rate.

Simply not working. I have fallowed the site directions and that is useless also. My HTC 10 was the issue. GPS was slow to act and the NFC chip did not work. In short I got a bad phone. My new HTC 10 is working very with August. 100% of the time.

I have to say, I just got my August door cam today and was excited to install it. So I followed all the directions to the T. Downloaded the mobile app to setup the door cam thru the app so i can view who is at my door. this August is horrible app and Wouldn't even let me connect to the august door cam thru the app. I followed all the troubleshooting guides august provided that was a fail. Now all I have is a fancy non working cam doorbell. I emailed august to see if there can be a resolution to this.

Still needs a lot of work. The potential for a great app is there but the auto unlock doesn't work unless you have the app open to the screen when you leave and return home. In addition the lock never stays connected to the app and there for have to constantly reconnect to the phone. 9 times out of 10 the reconnect doesn't work and you have to repair the connection which takes forever. Please fix these issues.
Thank you for the update with Google maps to help with the auto unlock feature however its still doesn't work reliably. It does not recognize when I have disconnected from my home network unless I updated the app manually and it will not auto unlock when I approach the door even though I manually update the app. Google Pixel with OS 7.1.2
Just create an accessibility service and get it over with! Even with Doze completely disabled, this app does not stay resident in memory. Without a bona fide service, this app is DEFUNCT. Auto-unlock doesn't work worth a DAMN........
This may be the biggest piece of junk in the history of history. I am not sure if it's hardware or software related but as per the other many reviews nothing works like it's supposed to. The uato unlock is the biggest let down... literally never working. Always come home to a locked door and when I open the app there is always the little report with the map showing my last trip, as soon as I see that I know it's not going to work properly which is pretty much every time even asking for no report in the settings. Hey August, how about doing what's right and give me a refund!
Wow bad app needs work.. Or just say for Apple only. Auto unlock doesn't work... Seems you have to have the app open all the time. Why can't I just walk up with the phone in my pocket Bluetooth on and then door unlocks?? Come on August I'm sure you can do better!!!
This app works well on iPhone. It is absolutely terrible on Android. Everyone here is having trouble with auto unlock functioning correctly, but I can't even get it to set up. I am standing next to the lock with location, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth on and it spends 2 minutes trying to find my location before it just fails. Basically all i can use this for is seeing who comes in and out of the house and when. I still have to use my key.
Auto-unlock is so bad, Ive had my August lock for half a year and still no improvements. Sometimes it works and most the time it doesn't. I do not recommend this product.
Auto unlock worked great until the last update. Quit entirely w/o notice. Had to reauthorization everything. POOR execution & poor understanding of the customer use cases. Now auto unlock works sporadically.
Geofence so slow and pulling app up to unlock doors so cumbersome that my August has become a very expensive keypad lock. The irony is that there's been an important keypad update available for 2 months that crashes my 6P and my girlfriend's S7 edge whenever we try to push the update. This isn't 2010 anymore. It's not ok to put all your development resources into the iOS app and leave Android to the B-team.
Please fix auto unlock, mine doesn't work currently, I really like how it unlocks right before I open the door and relocks after I close it but this function has stopped working. Loosing connection with Hub often (works only about 1/3 of the time and the lock stops working completely when the battery's are only half drained, wow) and it it does unlock it's after I've been home a while and scare my woman thinking someone is coming in. A bronze version of the lock finish would be nice. I have the lock, hub and keypad
Auto lock and opening and locking the door work well. Auto unlock is a no go. Can't detect when I am leaving the area and can't detect when I am standing in front of my door. In order for auto unlock to work, I have to open the app and keep the app running while I leave the area.

Auto unlock rarely works. Even connecting to the lock to unlock manually takes at least 15 seconds, which defeats the point if you ask me. I'll be returning the product. $200 is way too much to spend on something with a half-baked app.
So many issues, the latest being that it doesn't keep me signed in.
This app is missing a widget and you always have to press the wifi function to get it to work from a distance it should just work with out that wifi should just be on all the time for the app whenever you have a signal on your phone LTE or any other also that widget is important my wife is blind
I have learned, after purchasing this lock, doorbell, keypad, and wifi bridge, that I should have referenced the app reviews before spending that much money on something that doesn't work. Perhaps all of the reviews on websites were using iPhones, because it clearly couldn't have received so many glowing reviews if they were using the Android platform. Reading the app reviews would have saved me a lot of money. So here we are, after a major update, with the same crippled functionality. Even though there it's a review or two that says auto unlock is working more frequently, I'm willing to bet that is simply wishful thinking on their part. It takes time to realise, but this product only impairs the security of your home. Because this auto unlock feature won't work, and the app is sluggish when it tries to communicate with the lock, or how the keypad also slowly operates the lock, should you ever be in a situation where you need quick or immediate access to your home, keep your real key with you.... The August lock system will leave you to your own peril.... And then unlock.
The only thing that works well is the auto lock.. . The auto unlock is either slow or not working . Bought the connect hoping using WiFi would help .. but that is even worse . The app does not use wifi unless you tell it to ..but then it forgets and complains Bluetooth is of ..and have to activate wifi again . Manually lock/unlock is really slow,much faster with Bluetooth ..should not be like that .especially at home it should be faster with wifi ..but no .. So sad it still needs work.. They have probably stopped caring about this .. as the new lock is around the corner ..
New version, same problems. Reset the lock connection numerous times only to have it fail repeatedly. Get your act together.
Huge potential but the feature auto-unlock (this is why I bought the August) never worked .... need a lots of improvement !!! Please please do some update so we can enjoy your products . ...
When will it be compatible with the Galaxy S8. Fustrating not to be able to connect to my lock.
Why doesn't the ignore batter optimization work? It clearly doesn't check my location periodically. Auto unlock is the only feature that doesn't work properly.
Sometimes the lock/unlock works as you depart/come home, sometimes not so much.
App works well overall, but auto unlock stinks. Could use widgets also.
You would think that it would have a better connectivity seeing that you would use this instead of your house key.

Don't be fooled, there is nothing "smart" about this lock. If it worked as advertised, it would be a smart-ish lock. Auto unlock does not work. Remote unlock does not work. Remote viewing my doorbell does not work. Video recording does not work. Motion notification does not work. Unlock over Bluetooth works, but takes so long it is never worth it to use my phone instead of my key. I have had the doorbell and lock for a year now, hoping for an update to fix the countless issues, but nothing ever came. The only advantage to having the lock is the auto lock function, but without a door closed sensor, that function is usually just super annoying.
My favorite part is standing at my front door waiting... And waiting. Then grabbing my keys and putting them in my door. Only to have it unlock then... When it's no longer useful. 2 stars because it at least locks my door behind me. I think/hope... Updated: Nevermind. It can't even do that right. 1star
The auto unlock feature has never worked and it often takes multiple tries to even connect to the status. Also after the app update, it is showing me as an "Not Authorized" even though I am the owner.
Got locked so many times for so long that I regret ever using this crappy lock. Now it wants to shove mobile number authentication down my throat, they automatically logged me out and do not send me my credential recovery emails.
