this is what a good android game looks like great translation of a classic board game. yes it relies more on chance than skill, but its still a fun diversion and i find it an incredible breath of fresh air compared to the onslaught of crappy microtransaction-laden grindfests and/or bad match 3 games typical of the platform.
Super fun, super hard (& a throw back to the 80s!) I love this game. I have since the late 80s when I first played the board game version. It's dice (luck) based and I'm pretty sure it was invented by Satan, because it is evil. It will not hesitate to let you think you are doing well and then sucker punch you. That friggin' Slime and Meat Machine are mean. The music and artwork is epic. Game in the News did an amazing job keeping it true to the original. You need to try it out!
Very nicely done. Hours of struggling against overwhelming odds await. Great fun, and easier to play on the bus than the original board game would be.
A faithful adaptation of a terrible game It's certainly smoothly made and well presented, but the game is awful. It's more or less just snakes and ladders, or Ludo, and boils down to mindlessly flipping cards and rolling dice. Your equipment choice does matter, but once you learn the optimum spec after a few goes, it just comes down to pure luck. At least Talisman is more forgiving.
Almost perfect This game is great. Its had my attention for hours. Experimenting with the different device loadouts is compelling, mainly because it is the only thing you have ANY control over. Sure there are other choices you can make, but its all in the end a game of chance. Something I feel wasn't well captured was the feel for the games egregious tone. When I think of chainsaw warrior, I think of buckets of blood, akin to the feel for other products of the time like "heavy metal" the movie. Also, too expensive.
Hello, Darkness, my old friend. Very replayable, thoroughly enjoyed it and still do. Feels like a 80s action movie! I can see the trailer now... (Fade in: The New York skyline. The sun sets and then all the lights in the buildings come on, followed by them going out one at a time, then two, then three, punctuated by screams each time.) Don LaFontaine: In a world where day turns to night…and then forgets to turn back into day again, only one man stands between us and eternal Darkness. He is…THE CHAINSAW WARRIOR! (Dramatic chord and smashcut of game logo.) DLF: (Cont’d) Meet Not Snake Plisskin. A troubled loner with a dark past and only one love in his life. The Girl: I love you, Not Snake Plisskin! NSP: Sorry, baby. (Picks up chainsaw.) There’s only room for ONE love in my life. DLF: But now, he’s got to do the impossible: Storm a building full of the living dead and destroy the evil Darkness once and for all. (Until the sequel.) (Cut of NSP kicking one zombie off the balcony while chainsawing another. He turns and looks at the camera.) NSP: Drugs are for commies! DLF: Not Snake Plisskin IS.. THE CHAINSAW WARRIOR!
