It's fine 5/7 not backwards compatible with 1986 B2000. I can't believe they didn't make a way to connect this with a 30 year old truck. /s But aside from that glaring flaw it was easy to set up on my more modern car.
I have not found this device to be useful for anything except beeping at me when I do not drive like a grandmother. It will not allow me to turn off my Bluetooth when I'm not using the device. I might be at home in bed I turn off my Bluetooth and automatic turns it right back on. This is resulting in unnecessary battery usage. While this device has been in use I have had engine malfunctions and it has never alerted me to any or with any diagnostic codes. I do not believe that it can actually read any diagnostic codes. I think this is hype and misinformation presented in advertisements for this device. Many cars already have services built into them that provide many of the applications presented by this device. OnStar is one such example. I am quite disappointed in this device. If there is some use that I have not found for it I would wish that the creators or manufacturers of it would please contact me and let me know what I can do with it.
Not so "Automatic" With the recent update the app which controls the Bluetooth has put a very significant drain on my Galaxy S5. The only remedy is to disable the app, which causes another click of "are you sure", followed by another input of turning off the Bluetooth. Of course this needs to be done every time one starts and stops driving. I emailed the company to advise them of their glitch and they replied with a fix which duplicates the above. The above is not a fix, it's a work around for a problem.
Automatic is very good Automatic is an interesting concept. You can disable the setting that keeps Bluetooth on all the time in settings for the app. Also, Bluetooth uses very little power so why would you want to? Automatic's most useful feature is tracking mpg, distance travelled, and alerting you to things that use more fuel (accelerating too hard, braking too hard, travelling too fast). The online dashboard provides additional features
Live data? New adapter? It's now clear to me that you have a new adapter coming out, what you are like as a company. I bought a new adapter over a year ago for an app that I was told would be updated shortly to allow live data applications. They still are not available.
I've had it for a little over a year and it's been rock solid and the archival of information has proved to be very useful and interesting. Great for the times I spend at off site locations for work for tracking mileage. And its even saved me a few times at some of these locations when I forget exactly where on the premises that I parked lol. Looking forward to upgrading to the 3g model for me and for my wife
Just a tiny bug fix release to remove buttons to buy the 2nd generation adapter.
