My AUTOMATIC continues to impress me 1 year later. APP gets regular updates and support My AUTOMATIC paid for itself with it's first use. My local auto repair shops charge $100 for a check engine light diagnosis. I was able to read, diagnose and clear the indicator myself. I used this feature of my AUTOMATIC a few more times over the past year saving $100 each time. My AUTOMATIC gives me info my 2000 GMC pickup can not provide: Logging of trip details automatically for tax records. MPG & fuel costs for each leg of a trip. Start/End points and Date/Time for each leg. No space to list more
Total disappointment This app took the better part of 30 minutes to install and use. It snoops on basically EVERYTHING in your phone - why should Automatic read my text messages and copy my contacts list again? (Oh yeah, to sell my private information to advertisers! After I paid almost a hundred bucks for their plastic plug in!) The kicker? It won't even diagnose a Toyota 'maintenance required' light, the whole reason I bought the Automatic! This is an inconvenient, $99 privacy-invading app that's useless for Toyota owners.
Lexus vehicles unwelcome It seems that Automatic is unable to read anything useful off of my Lexus e300h. Also, you really need to let users adjust the speed limits set to keep under (legal highway speeds are 70 in places, too). Also, I get hit for a hard acceleration everytime I merge onto a freeway with short on ramp. Maybe need some adjustment to your formulas.
Naggy Insists on telling me where my truck is parked, always...I can see it from my window, I know where it is! Also complains when I break 70, which is oftentimes necessary for my own safety on some highways with agressive drivers.
Live data? Still waiting 3 months later. And probably will be another 3 and so on. I bought the 2nd Gen adapter about a year ago because it was going to supposedly be updated soon for the live data apps. I doubt that's going to happen on android. But I hope you prove me wrong. Any update for live data apps coming soon?
Thought it would be cool... But in reality, all this seems to be good for is monitoring your acceleration and breaking to help improve fuel efficiency. The app itself doesn't give much useful information. The ability to notify someone in the event of an accident is however the best thing this offers. Edit: This device is not turbo charger friendly. Recently traded in my Impreza for a Mini Cooper S Clubman and unless I'm in Green mode, the acceleration is just too quick and always results in a beep and docking of points within the app.
Bug: Fixed a bug in trip processing handling
