Happy-ish This app is pretty good, but it certainly needs improvement, no doubt about it! It could possibly do with an undo button, and something to clear the staff and /or the measure, and clear the excessive rest compilation at the end which may or may not really be the end of the piece. I only wrote six or seven measures of music, but I ended up with probably around 400 measures made up of tons of sixteenth note rests. It could also use something to do with triplet patterns, as others have said. Thanks for the app, though. It is helpful as far as it is capable.
Good composition app This app is a good start but it has a way to go. From a music theory standpoint it is excellent, but the user interface could be improved. For example it was hard to change note lengths. The screen touch was not precise so notes that were to follow got placed before. Some buttons did not seem to work. The ability to have chords is good, but you are still limited to a single line on a single staff of music. Somehow I wound up with a boatload of extra measures I could not delete.
Good concept, needs more work I originally downloaded so I could hear what a particular composition sounded like. It took some time to figure it out as it came without any instructions. Once I got it figured out it is actually pretty good. One of the best I've downloaded. It would be nice to be able to write in both treble and bass clefs at the same time. Also helpful would being able to write music that employs various types of notes (half and quarter, for example) that are played at the same time. Perhaps also the ability to cut/copy and paste for a chorus or repeated phrasing.
Good a long way to go Needs to add alot of stuff. Cant slur eighth notes, have rest in between eighth notes while they are barred without removing the bars, cant change tempo in the middle of the piece without changing it all same with key signatures. Missing a dynamic of fp. No crescendo or decrescendo option. Cant make triplets right... this like a beta test. Its good. It just needs those things I mentioned
Great tool! Quite easier to use than I thought it would be! For a free app, this has a lot of instruments and musical notations to start with! I'm using it to try my hand at composing. One thing: I think there should be an option to play back starting at a note or rest instead of having to hear the whole thing through a billion times! Other than that, no complaints so far.
It's ok... This is an okay app for people just starting out. You can't slur notes and there's no bass clef. You can't set it to automatically make certain notes flat or sharp. I'm ok with making certain notes natural. You have to continuously set each note. I also don't like how I have to listen to the whole song just to listen to a little portion I need to listen to. You can't add crescendos or other musical markings. If there were more features I would be happy with this app.
