Ratings and reviews

It's okay. I like that it explains more than Duolingo, but the lessons can get pretty repetitive, not to mention stuff that just isn't relevant. There were multiple lessons on talking about environmental pollution yet no lesson on animal names or buying groceries. Also, not happy that I have to use Spain Spanish instead of Latin American because the latter only had two levels to go through. I'm glad I didn't buy the lifetime subscription. Just a year then I'll probably drop it.

It has good speakers, but the mic feature doesn't work for many people. The basic plan only lets you study one language, duolingo doesn't limit you. The lesson structures are also not great to me, it's really not all that different from duolingo aside from pacing. There's no glossary for words or grammar. You can't tap on single words that give you trouble to see their meaning or focus on their pronunciation. It makes you listen to the whole sentence. I think babbel is way overhyped and costly.

Everytime this app updates, something breaks. It seems to no longer recognize my voice. May be caused because the mike doesn't seem to activate the first time I press the button. My device is a Pixel 6. Thankfully, I have also been using Duolingo, which works better but Babbel moves more quickly so it would be nice if it would function since I paid for my subscription. At this point I expect to cancel at the end of it. Frustrating!
