Worth the money, it's not expensive for what you get and paying makes you more likely to use it. I'm a languages teacher and I think this app is an excellent language learning tool. Sometimes the speech recognition is a bit frustrating but that is the same with other apps too. Love how babbel gives information about the language and gives you grammar instruction. Good revision tools too.
Described in Play as "learn languages for free". This app is not free! Within only a few exercises it asks you to register then a few exercises later it asks for a monthly payment to keep using. A few minutes use then that was it. Total scam!! Don't waste your time.
It's a ploy. You get one small basic 'lesson' that you probably already learnt in school and then forced to pay £53 if you want to learn any more. Use duolingo.. there's many languages to learn in depth and it's FREE!!
Not free! Only gives first lesson free. Poor voice Recognition! Tested at advanced sent me to beginning. Try duo lingo if beginner and donate to avoid ads, but can still use for free if guilt allows
I settled into the first lesson and was very pleased with how much explanation was given as compared to other apps I have tried. But this family is not going to pay $13 a month per person in order to continue using the app. Claiming that an app is free while charging to use the app is ethically unsound. I am not impressed with babbel.
Great app. Would be a 5 from me except I think it should have a silent mode that doesn't rely on listening to a sentence and translating as it can be hard to hear in a noisy environment when you don't have head phones. Would be nice to be able to turn it on and off.
That’s what we’d prefer. Unfortunately, bugs happen. So, in those rare moments we’re not enjoying the warm embrace of a hug, we’re working hard to fix what needs to be fixed to improve your learning experience.
Check out our fancy new app icon, we hope you like it
