Works great on a Kindle Fire HD8 (once you have sideloaded Play Store so that you can download and install it - Babbel Russian is not in the Amazon App Store). Typing is a bit more of a chore than on a PC with a proper keyboard, but it is a tablet after all. It looks good, works slickly and syncs automatically with the Babbel PC Dashboard in my browser (once you have logged in). Now I can do lessons every day even when I am away camping or travelling. Just remember to download your lessons while you have a Wi-Fi connection. I was half way through the Basic 1 course when I received my Kindle Fire. I just download the next 12 lessons in a very short amount of time. So far, so good. I'm impressed.
It's fun and interactive I like that you can pronounce it back to see if you are WAY off. Just having trouble when you have to type the words back it won't let me submit on the second words. So it keeps telling me I got it wrong but it won't let me type in the first place. But otherwise great.
The voice recognition sucked. It didn't even understand the first thing I said. Fix this and maybe I'll reconsider looking at this app again.
Only one free basic unit, so far I like it. I just hope the price is cheaper, the price holds me back from going further....
Even though the option is there the app won't currently let me register with Google. I clicked on the Google button to register and the screen slightly flickered but nothing further happened. I tried signing in afterwards to double check and it definitely hadn't worked.
Works quite well! I understand concepts and it explains parts well. I wish it had extentions to the lessons that you could just read instead of type along with, but otherwise, PERFECT!
