Please stop calling it a checking account in the app description! If you can't write an actual check, it's not a checking account. Other than that...I love the in-app features... Or at least the ones that I use. Deposits are a bit slow, I was spoiled by immediate deposits on my old Google wallet card. Now, waiting 3-5 days just seems way too long. Fix that, and add a way to deposit cash, then we're at 5 stars! Another feature that would be great, add the ability to send money to someone's PayPal account. Sending money to a friend should be easy even if they don't have Simple.
App used to work great. Now it crashes on opening every time. I have Android Kit Kat 4.4, which may be factor as its an older version of Android. However, it shouldn't update itself if the new version isn't compatible. I will be forced to stop using Simple because it's mostly an app based service.
When you 1st open the account any check deposit will be HELD 10 days. I deposited check after 30 days and they tell me they are holding for 5 days and THEN AFTER CONTACTING SUPPORT TEAM 7 DAYS. They are unhelpful and sarcastic and now I am screwed. I would have been better off paying a check cashing fee. ANYTHING BUT SIMPLE. WHAT A JOKE 😤😤😤
I've been using Simple for about two years and despite some upgrades to the app I find the quality of the banking end disappointing. I'm not sure if its directly related to the change of underlying banks but I don't remember so many issues occurring when Simple was partnered with Bancorp but I'm experiencing delayed and rejected deposits to my account, debit card charges posting then disappearing for a few days then reappearing and throwing off my Safe to Spend balance. Its becoming unreliable, inconvenient and wearing on my patience. As a result, I've downgraded my rating.
Very slow with direct deposits will be changing banks asap! I need a faster bank! This is worst than a green dot card! Buyer Beawear
Customer service is nowhere to be found. Good luck if you have issues. My card cracked in multiple spots over the course of two years. Now it's essentially unusable and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone from customer service for three days. All times I've held more than 30 minutes for no response
