The Barclays app

HOW TO REGISTER
If you’re 16 or over and you have a UK-registered mobile number and a Barclays current account or Barclaycard, you can register for the app. You’ll need the 16 digit number off your card, then follow the onscreen instructions. Some customers may be required to verify their identity with PINsentry or at a Barclays cash machine.

If you’ve got an activation code, follow the onscreen steps to register (you won’t need PINsentry for this).

After you’re set up, you’ll only need your 5-digit passcode to log in. Then you can set up Android Fingerprint to log in faster in future.

You can now add your Barclays Debit card to your Google Wallet, just visit the Play store to download the Google Wallet App to register your card and start making contactless payments.

This app doesn’t work on rooted devices.

•Log into Online Banking more easily using Mobile PINsentry. So we can complete some security checks, it can take up to 4 days for Mobile PINsentry to be activated in the app
•Call our customer services team direct from the app to speak to an advisor
•Manage your Barclays personal and business accounts with 1 secure log-in
•No need to log in to lots of apps - view your current accounts held with other banks, safely and securely, in your app

FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS
You can only use the app if you’re a sole-signatory Barclays Business current account holder. You can’t register your Barclaycard business or corporate credit cards.

This app is provided by either Barclays Bank UK PLC or Barclays Bank PLC depending on the entity you may have contracted with for banking services. Please refer to your bank documents (terms and conditions, statements, etc.) to confirm the legal entity that provides banking services to you.

By far the worst banking app I have used - I have used NatWest, RBS, Revolut, Monzo and PayPal. It often crashes. When using it for 2 factor authentication for large purchases it crashes or times out immediately. Every time I try to make payments to my Amazon account using the app, it crashes completely. Also, no option to turn off paper billing in the app. Needs a great deal of work to keep up with the innovators of internet banking. Good for checking balances and that's all.

Easy app to navigate. There is a great deal of advertising but nothing too distracting. With the slider, it is easier to transfer and pay people, the start of it is filled out for you if you know it's there. Easy for contacting agents for help, I prefer to phone them not using the app because using the app by texting to contact them, that can and does sometimes get lost halfway through the conversation. But all in all, it is better than it has been in the past.

Most of the times the app is quite good. But 2 days ago unfortunately I've lost my wallet with everything in it. Wallet was found and a person did find it and made 3 purchases using contactless payments but the up did NOT notified me in any way. So if for example I would drive for a couple of hours before realising that my wallet is missing probably he would've made more purchases. This is a security issue. The app us up to date, the device I'm using is brand new. My partner, not a problem.
