The Barclays app

HOW TO REGISTER
If you’re 16 or over and you have a UK-registered mobile number and a UK Barclays current account or Barclaycard, you can register for the app. You’ll need the 16 digit number off your card, then follow the onscreen instructions. Some customers may be required to verify their identity with PINsentry or at a Barclays cash machine.

If you’ve got an activation code, follow the onscreen steps to register (you won’t need PINsentry for this).

After you’re set up, you’ll only need your 5-digit passcode to log in. Then you can set up Android Fingerprint to log in faster in future.

This app doesn’t work on rooted devices.

•Log into Online Banking more easily using Mobile PINsentry. So we can complete some security checks, it can take up to 4 days for Mobile PINsentry to be activated in the app
•Call our customer services team direct from the app to speak to an advisor
•Manage your Barclays personal and business accounts with 1 secure log-in

FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS
You can only use the app if you’re a sole-signatory Barclays Business current account holder. You can’t register your Barclaycard business or corporate credit cards.

This app is provided by either Barclays Bank UK PLC or Barclays Bank PLC depending on the entity you may have contracted with for banking services. Please refer to your bank documents (terms and conditions, statements, etc.) to confirm the legal entity that provides banking services to you.

I've found Barclays app really to be so easy to use, very convenient. Ideal for monitoring your money with an easy at a glance format, an easy in app method to query a transaction that you're unsure or forgotten about. Easy transfer between accounts. Alerts via your mobile makes banking alot better and safer. It's certainly gone downhill since I opened my account. layout isn't particularly user-friendly!

I can't fault this app. It's easier to set up than Lloyds(which I gave up on), and I'm always notified via the app if and when money over a certain amount has come into or left my account. Sending or paying money out is a doddle. Moving money between my savings and isa is also a doddle. 21/03/25 update! As so many branches have been closed, the app is useful until you want a large amount of cash, which you could get at a branch, but NOT at a post office. App and card have limitations! BAH!

Paying in a cheque is just broken, formats the images at weird angles, tells me the image is blurry when it's perfectly readable, doesn't say which of the two images is blurry. Guess I'll have to go into my local branch to pay it in... oh wait it's been closed. Also the app is so dated compared to competitors, you really need to up their game.
