Truth be told, I've never had a BlackBerry device my whole life. BBM for Android instantly caught my attention and made me think twice about using SMS, except for my parents. Even when competitors like W******p were around, I didn't bother. The sleek look and seamless experience in the latest version of BBM have made my passion about it grow stronger than ever. Kudos to the developers!
I get constant spam invites and a steady stream of ads. I only use this app to talk to one person, and I keep accidentally selecting spam when I expect to only see that one conversation on the page. I don't care about the stickers or anything extra like that. I like the app and keep using it for the delivered and received tags, and for glympse, which is amazing, and the best service of it's kind that I've found. However, if the spam and the ads aren't better after the latest update, I'll be finding a different app. I'd pay for an ad-free version, and I'd kill to have the option to disable receiving any invites from anyone.
After years of BBOS, could not see me using any other communications device. Then the Priv came out. Now BBM is in every OS, everyone has the opportunity to use the very best solution with a ton of free options that used to be a subscription only. Keep up the great work! :D
Quite a versatile messaging app without any quirks. Been using it from my BlackBerry days and now with my android phone too. Glympse is a fantastic component. It allows others to follow your movements on a map. Put it to good use during my holiday in Sri Lanka. This is probably one of the most useful features in BBM. For example, managers can use this to monitor lone-workers for their safety, or you could monitor your loved ones' progress home late at night etc. Last couple of months been getting many unexpected invites, however this seems to have stopped now. I'm not sure if messages are encrypted like Whatsapp. Ringer volume is not loud enough in noisy environments.
for new design interface + combined group chat with personal chat. bad interface, bad navigation bar, doubled feature/function in one place (why do you need to introduce me screen in navbar if we can just swipe from left to see it, same feature isnt it?), no user friendly anymore. Its way more complicated now, bad interface&feature management.
Great messaging app best I've used features are instant keep it coming BB, recent update is fantastic. One thing missing while in the hub of you select compose bbm you are not given the option to compose a message in a group only to an individual. That option is needed
- Infrastructure features to reduce spam invites
- Updated icons for BBM Voice and Video calling
- Improved quick reply notification support for Android “N”
- Performance improvements and bug reports
- Introduced Me and Discover screen into the main navigation menu.
- Combined BBM Groups and group management features into the Chat screen. All chat conversations are in a single place now.
