Tablets & phones best app to buy first I had my galaxy tab 10.1 all of an hour before concluding that I needed a better keyboard than was included. I tried what must have been a dozen free keyboards before realizing none of those would do. And then I found this one, end of search, works perfectly! UPDATE 1: Several months later and still loving Thumbs Keyboard! UPDATE 2: On my nexus 10 after 2+ years I use this keyboard on my tablet and my Galaxy S4. UPDATE 3: On to my Galaxy S6 and Pixel C still rocking Thumbs Keyboard!
Awesome Layouts I switched to Thumb Keyboard to get the customizable thumb layouts for portrait and landacape. Love the level of customization, including custom keys and text shortcuts (for my username, email address, etc.); its amazing. I usually prefer to tap, but this would get five stars if there were an option to swipe as well. EDIT: Needs emoji support!
I have been using this App for years, across many devices. I really appreciate the level of aesthetic/practical customisation it grants. I recently got a Moto G5 that has the option to move the on-screen Nav-Bar to its "One-Button nav" (off screen), very handy, but when I have a keyboard open the Nav-Bar comes back(I assume it's because it has some setting on it). When the phone is in landscape the nav-bar covers some of the keyboard, rendering your app useless in that orientation. I've contacted Motorola & they were very eager to tell me that it's not their problem. Hopefully you guys are more helpful Either way, keep up the good work ( =
Good but could be excellent This is a great concept for a keyboard. It's the only one that I can stand to use in landscape mode on my 10" tablet. However it's missing two key features that I require as a developer: there is no backtick (`) key, and no way to send a "real" Ctrl (for use in the Terminal Emulator).
Used to be good, but... Used to love this keyboard. I've been using it exclusively on all my devices for several years. Hands down the best keyboard available. The only problem is that every time I upgrade to a new phone (now a Note 4 on Lollipop), the secondary characters are so small, I can hardly see them, even with the size set to max. KB also disappears randomly while typing. Email to developer months ago still unanswered. Hey developer, sell this app to someone who will actually support it.
Best keyboard for your tablet if you don't use emoticons Before using this keyboard I would hardly use my tablet for taking notes or writing documents. After installing this keyboard, it made my tablet more useable. Only issue is some of the special characters that you may be use to accessing on a regular keyboard are located in different places as compared to a normal keyboard. UPDATE: It's almost 2016 and still no emoticons. I have to switch to the built-in Google keyboard when sending any type of chat communication to friends just to have the ability to send graphical emoticons. That sucks!
Fixed issue on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) that caused Thumb Keyboard to force close
