About this app
Take care of your library affairs whenever you want with the Library Wise app (free)! The app can be used by members of the public libraries in the Netherlands.
More information about the participating libraries can be found at https://www.wise-nl.oclc.org/app/. Or launch the app and make a selection from the overview of the participating libraries. Do you have questions or comments about the app? Then contact the library where you are a member.
The Library Wise app offers you almost the same facilities as the catalog and My Menu on the website of your library. For example:
+ What do I have at home? You can see at a glance what materials you have at home and when they must be returned. Direct renewal is possible: both your own copies and those of family members. First set the authorization (s) for renewal!
+ Relationships (Permissions for renewal): Set here whether you want to be able to renew your children for example. The other way around is also: authorize someone to renew for you.
+ Search in the catalog: All search options from the regular (web) catalog are available. You can search in sub-catalogs (youth, e-books, etc.) by title, author, subject, words, series, etc. If desired, you can place reservations and add titles to your wish list.
+ Acquisitions, reading advice, ratings: Difficult to choose? The app gives you a hand with acquisition overviews and (personal) reading and listening advice. You can also see how others have rated titles (ratings, reviews).
+ Manage data: You can manage your data yourself (login data, mail address) but also the way you want to receive messages from the library (mail, inbox / push, mail).
+ Inbox and push messages keep you informed of the latest state of affairs. Retrieve reservations? Submitting materials? The library will let you know. Make sure that you are and remain logged in.
+ Overviews: Previously borrowed titles, My reservations, My Wishlist. You can add or remove titles yourself to the last two
Explanation of some permissions that the Library Wise App requests:
+ GPS location: is only used to search libraries in your area. Your location is not shared.
+ Change content of storage space: is used to buffer retrieved data locally.
+ Internet access: for retrieving your data at the library.
+ Manage NFC: with a device that has an NFC reader, you can scan RFID labels from library materials to instantly request title info and ratings.
