I've used this site for almost 5 years now. The recipes are awesome.....I found the old style (set up) more user friendly. The new one has deterred me from using the app as frequently due to difficulty in finding what I am looking for.
Nutritional Info? Why do I have to pay for nutritional info? I can get plenty of other recipe apps for free that have the nutritional info. Installing and also unsubscribing from your emails now.
:( Okay I like the idea, but why can't we see the saved recipes offline? What if I want to make something, but there's no internet connection? should I just wait for the connection to come back to make lunch for my family? I hope you can consider this.
What's up with all the "1 serving" recipes? I guess we're just supposed to ignore the stated serving size. It is annoying even when accurate, but often obviously wrong. Just browsing randomly, I have only come across "1 serving" and "24 serving" recipes, neither of which are useful to me (if true). I gave this app a shot because allthecooks recently imploded.
Redesign Please The app is great in theory but not always in practice. First a material redesign would be nice. The app as it is now is sort of ugly and feels clunky. The website and the app don't seem to communicate together very well at times. That being said I like the app for meal planning and creating shopping lists. Overall, I feel everything could be executed much better.
This gets three stars because of a terrible oversight in their UI, I want to see my recipes first. If I took the time to type it in, I want it prioritized over everything else. But for some reason, I have to go digging every time. It's extremely annoying. The grocery and menu planning are great, once you can finally get to the recipes you want. I don't even know why they have your favorite recipes when they insist on showing you everything but. For a paid service this is unacceptable.
Want to search your own recipes? You got it! We’ve updated the app so you can search your own recipes using BigOven's Advanced Search feature, located in the slide out drawer. And if you like to share your recipes with friends and family, we’ve made that even easier by placing it at the top of the recipe.
