New Company! A new company has taken over and is bringing all the add-ons up to date. I'm a Maryland attorney and Maryland appears to be updated already. Extremely easy to use; no learning curve at all. Easier to read than Westlaw's free statutes and much more user friendly and also easier to read than Lexis' free statutes. Comments prior to July, 2016 refer to old company. New guys respond to customers quickly. (I have nothing at all to do with the company. I'm just a new fan!)
Needs Updated ASAP! It would be a great App if it got regular updates and fixed compatibility with their own modules/plugins. Also, if their add-ons would get updated to reflect changes in the Law and stay up to date with Android. Does not work with KitKat 4.4.2 on Nexus 7 (2013).
Not for Jelly Bean Add-Ons do NOT work properly with dLaw when running stock Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Also app is NOT compliant with Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean standards and guidelines. Was a great app with many great add-ons in the past, app now needs an interface and usability update as well as a number of bug/crash fixes to work properly with Jelly Bean. Can NOT recommend for latest Android devices and software.
I am having issues with a few of the purchase add-ons. They appear to start opening then nothing. When they work, the add-ons are awesome! I have emailed the contact a couple of times and have had no repsonse. At this time I would suggest not wasting your money! Will change my review if they are fixed.
Nexus 7 to Nexus 10 I love the app as a handy reference. My Nexus 7 only liked running the original droidlaw app, but the 10 seems to enjoy full functionality with the updated dlaw version. Both run the exact same version of Jelly Bean. This app can be a little finicky when running add-ons for the first time, but I can't rule out other processes and apps in use causing compatibility problems. My workaround is to clear the app cache and reopen. Add-ons register properly and work from that point on. Very happy to have invested the money in such a resourceful legal reference tool.
Very satisified Nexus 7 User When dLaw failed to open on my Nexus 7 (32 g & Android 4.2), the developer advised me to display the app in landscape mode. This solved the problem completely. The Company was quick to respond, generous with its time and advice and is working on a "portrait". I'm thoroughly pleased with the program and the service.
