The ELP App lets you complete, save and send your Europass Language Passport (ELP) on your Android Smartphone quickly and easily! Your self assessed linguistic skill levels in languages other than your mother tongue can be quickly and easily identified and entered along with information on your qualifications and any language-related experience you may have had.
Why do I need a Europass Language Passport?
The ELP highlights both formal language qualifications and informal language skills and experience. When it comes to getting a job you need to stand out from the crowd; you need to show off your skills and qualifications, you need to promote yourself!
The Europass Language Passport is the perfect way to promote your language skills, qualifications and experience to employers.
"Whatever language you speak, you can quickly demonstrate to employers that you really are speaking their language!"
Who has developed it?
This Android app has been developed by the EU funded Vale! project – whose aim is to promote and raise awareness of the Europass Language Passport (ELP) across the EU and make it quicker, simpler and easier to complete, save and send the ELP.
How does it work?
There are four main sections:
Details: This is where you provide some basic information about yourself
Languages: This is the most important section. This is where you list the languages you have some experience of and then do a simple self assessment of your skills in four key areas –
• Speaking (in two sub-sections)
All you have to do is decide where your skills lie along a six point scale from basic to expert!
BASIC A1 A2 B1 B2 C1 C2 EXPERT
To help you there are simple descriptors which explain what you should be able to do to claim that level. Select the one that matches your level of expertise.
You can then input information about any formal qualifications and awards you might have – your exams, that kind of thing ..
The final section is very important because it lets you record any other linguistic experience you may have – the things that often get missed. Like holidays you spent in other countries, that evening course you did at the local college, your penfriend in Italy, the time you worked in a bar in Spain!
Once you have completed the ELP all you have to do is email it to yourself or someone else and everything is converted automatically to pdf format ready to be viewed!
