Everything is a threat Frist it is a helpful tool to identify potential risks. Hoever it seems to pick up everyone and it's mother as a threat. The app checks programs permissions data to identify security holes. However certain apps that are identified as threats are from reputable competitors. I'm not sure if the program is comparing the actual data in live situations or only taking the permissions for face value. Again the tool is helpful however when you install a security app you should know it's there.
Generally helpful Immediately provides privacy rating upon app install or app update (great). This has led me to uninstall some apps that were uploading my device ID and other personal info to various ad networks, without my consent.
Empowers Clueful is great! It has helped me find and uninstall two privacy violating apps (neither time was the app an offender you would expect), and keeps me informed about all other privacy issues with apps (thanks to its multi-level system to show how great a threat to privacy any given app presents). It's only flaw is that Clueful does not seem to show privacy threats it itself poses.
Crap App Does nothing. Tells you which apps are a problem, then redirects to a paid app to handle the problem. If most app developers just put the paid app first and the free teeter app, I would consider purchasing it. This trick is a turnoff.
Great app The app tells me which apps are a privacy threat & which ones aren't right when they are installed. I appreciate that a lot. I wish it could block/restrict/give us a heads up when a high risk app is leaking any such data or at least block the transfer of data through from such apps & ask our permission before letting the data transfer to take place(maybe just in high risk apps).
Remedy is worse than the ailment So in the process of protecting our privacy, the app collects information that may even be used in a court of law? What kind of privacy protection is that? How many people really read the agreement before starting to use the app, willingly putting the Big Brother in their pockets? Uninstalling!
