Love functionality but... It's hard to use. I know you want me to purchase sync 2 and I would if only you'd make the app easier to use across platforms
Upgrade seems to have broken sync Edit. Previous update broke all my sync settings, old and new, which never worked since this became a paid service. So I'm done now and rafting dropped to one star. Bye BitTorrentSync. (Edit over) I get peer to peer between my mobile devices showing active but I can't see anything syncing. My PC doesn't seem to work any more. Dropping from 5 to 3 stars. If it isn't figured out fairly soon, I'll try deleting all my existing shares and start over...
Android to iPhone I don't normally rate, but when I got this I was trying to find a way to put my videos I recorded on my iPhone. I was, of course, skeptical until I actually used it. I was able to select the specific file I wanted and backed them into the iPhone and they work perfectly. Perfect for me.
What happened? When Sync was in Beta is was a wonderful little app based on a premise of doing away with the cloud. It worked, however each new version has broken it. I don't care about the paywall controversy; it just doesn't work any more.
Works as advertised (not anymore) Easiest way I have found to transfer files to my phone. Screaming fast transfers up to 5mB/s. Excellent program. Edit: after latest update speed slowed way down and syncing became inconsistent.
This is my first 5-star review ever. I have been looking for a solution to synchronize files to my tablet for ages. I've tried a zillions solutions -- an rsync daemon (nigh impossible to configure), sshd supporting scp and sftp (dropped connections repeatedly), running my own downloads through a web browser (slow, random failures, simultaneous downloads failed), a number of other sync tools in Play. Nothing worked well enough that I'd even remotely consider paying for it. BitTorrent Sync *works*. Even in environments where WiFi is spotty, the nature of the protocol is such that a "swarm" will get you your files far faster than a sequential copy as with scp or rsync. With the additional features like automatic background transfers and the ability for a master to delete files on the slaves, this is the one sync tool for me. The free version works well enough that I'm hooked. And this will be the second application (after Auralux) that I expect I'd actually pay for. Well played, BitTorrent. Well played.
